Meet Todd Clark | The VW DJ Guy

We had the good fortune of connecting with Todd Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Todd, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have long loved VW buses and had about 6 of them over the years.
About 6 months ago while DJing at a restaurant on Main Street in Huntington Beach I had an epiphany.
Why not combine the vintage VW bus with my DJ passion.
The rest is history and the last 3-4 months have been busy and full of unique opportunity.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am not the most successful entrepreneur, but I am entrepreneurial to my bones!
I am in the stage and season of life where I am not as concerned about striving and making money as I am about cultivating a creative life that inspires others to live curiously.
I have always believed the key is to find the thing you love and then convince others to pay you to do that thing!
I have been lucky enough to do that through the years.
Woking in non profits.
Leading an artist community at EAT ART that sent over 500,000 meals to hungry kids through photography.
And now, I can spread love, grace and good vibes to people through music.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d love to hop in “Jetty” the 1961 VW bus and …
– grab coffee at Alta in the Lido area of Newport Beach
– then down to the Wedge to check the waves
– then back up to Huntington Beach to Sanchos Tacos for lunch
– Back down to Laguna Beach to be inpired by the art and Pagent of the Masters
and wrap it up with a pre reserved beach camping spot in the VW camper bus at Doney Beach in Dana Point!
Bam,
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My shoutout would be to the early DJs of Hip Hop that I never met, but learned everything about and was mentored by in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
