Meet Tina Palmgren | Wizard of Automation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tina Palmgren and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tina, what principle do you value most?
Impact: I love making a difference in people’s lives. The “ah-ha” moment when they understand the impact it will make in their life and that of their work and/or family’s lives. It’s the ripple effect of making a small change here to make a difference farther out.

What should our readers know about your business?
Exceling Your Business, LLC. started out to help small business owners to be accurate and efficient. I am most proud of creating customized programs that non Excel clients love to use. Being very detail oriented, the instructions are easy to follow with pictures, arrows, words, and even videos walking you through how to use the spreadsheet. That’s all after we also go through it live. I also follow up to make sure it’s working or if it needs adjustments.

After working in several large corporations I realized how inaccurate and inefficient they were and it drove me nuts! I didn’t know accuracy and efficiency were two of my core values at the time. While I’m detail oriented, I also see the big picture and can follow data through the system. Because it’s so easy for me, I assumed everyone could do it, not understanding that it’s unusual, most people are either detailed or big picture – not both.

Besides the normal you’re a woman, you don’t know what that does, BS that I heard in the manufacturing industry, I learned to beg for forgiveness instead of ask for permission! I just fixed problems as I found them without asking.

As the Wizard of Automation, I create customized automations, getting you the information you need quickly and accurately so you can do what’s important to you. Repetitive tasks like expenses, invoicing, proposals, banking data, and other things that are done daily, weekly, or monthly like sales taxes all can be automated to save you hours of time.

small changes = BIG RESULTS

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Winter itinerary ~ Ice skating at one of the outdoor rinks, snow shoeing at Rib Mountain, check out a couple of the local museums, tickets to the Grand Theater to catch a live show, catch a college hockey or basketball game, checking out the Curling Club to watch the locals.

Summer itinerary ~ Biking the Green Circle Trail, checking out the band shell in the park on Wednesdays for live music, Thursday’s live music at PJ’s, golfing, hiking Rib Mountain, checking out the local festivals and farmers market on the weekends.

Food ~ O’sos Brewery for their “Hillbilly Pizza” and beer, tour Central Waters Brewery, Jordan Bar for chicken or Friday fish fry, PJ’s for local fresh food, Tulum for amazing Mexican cooking, Olympia for breakfast, Two Lakes for a super club setting…

Paula Houlihan – Paula’s been cheering for me ever since I met her, even before working with her on a professional level. She calls it like she see’s it ~ not that I always listened, but I know she’s always had my best interest at heart and I trust her with my life.
