We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Randel Tracy Welt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany Randel, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind our brand is we keep it authentic. We hand curate all of our collections ourselves and shoot all of our own photographs instead of using stock model photos. We really try and put emphasis on our brand that it is for all women. We truly believe in using real people to build our brand instead of the typical fashion models. We also wear and use all of our pieces, there is not a single item in our collections that we would not wear or use ourselves.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Salt + Pine is truly a mixture of both of us, bringing together both our strengths and passions. Both of us come from a fashion background, Tiffany has a degree in Design and Tracy has degree in merchandising. So, we both have different sides of the spectrum to come together to make this business a whole. We took our passions and came together to start a brand that encompassed all of the things we grew up learning and love into one Lifestyle Brand. We have definitely faced challenges by launching this brand in the middle of a pandemic. With that, came a lack of inventory, erratic shipping costs, a lack of places to sell, and unknown rules of business. Too much of our surprise we have grown significantly in the almost 2 years of business. We have expanded twice into two additional locations and currently getting ready for a 3rd. We truly believe that our personalities come through with all we do, and people can tell true authenticity when they see our brand.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being in Orange County our first stop is always the beach! First stop would be our stomping grounds of Newport Beach, have brunch at Malibu Farms, head over to the fun zone on Balboa Island, then stop at Fashion Island for some shopping. Next, we would head over Laguna Beach to the tide pools, then Still water in Dana Point Harbor for some live music and food. Next on the agenda would be an Angles Baseball Game and hit up all of the amazing small batch breweries’ between Anaheim and downtown Orange. Then head over the Historic circle of Orange and eat at Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen. And no trip is complete without heading to Chaak for some amazing cocktails and tapas.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First off, we would not be here today if it wasn’t for the love and support of our MOM. She is our biggest supporter, helps with all the packing and delivery, set up, models for our collections, tells everyone about us, and cheers us on daily. Next would be Tiffany’s husband, Tyler Randel. He is the Salt + Pine mascot and is our number 1 sells rep! He stops every person who walks by and gets them to shop with us no matter what. Then we have all of our friends and family, who shop with us, share all of our posts, come to all of our events and support us every step of the way.

Without all of these people we would be nothing. It truly takes an entire village to run a small business and we have the best village around.
