We had the good fortune of connecting with Theo Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Theo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Over the years, we always talked about creating a brand that focused heavily on our art. In 2019 the NickLee Creations brand was created and finally launched in early 2021.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Our art evolves around the horror genre and off-roading sprinkled with a little punk rock.

We just went for it, took a chance and it snowballed from there. It’s definitely not easy but once you get the hang of running a small online business, you’re good to go.

Overcoming a challenge is knowing the reward is real. We failed several times but that’s how you learn! Learning to keep going is definitely a challenge.

We hope the world knows that we’re just doing something we love to do. We don’t take ourselves too serious. We have a chance to showcase our art and so far we’ve had a pretty good reception. We try to push “Life is short, be kind to each other”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week? Maybe a California burrito for the road and head out on a adventure! Hit the road towards Anza, find some views and some, trails while scoping out a good camping spot. I would definitely pack a bunch of food and have a delicious cook out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There’s one awesome person who really stands out. Andy Dennis of Orezona Designs. Andy has been around the specialty patch scene for a long time, the guy definitely knows his stuff. He always took the time out of his busy schedule to help us and answer a lot of our stupid questions. I don’t think we would of had the start we did if we hadn’t had his guidance.

We would also like to do a shout out to all of our fellow members on Tacoma World. Specifically the ones who supported us since day one. These folks are some of the most supportive people you’ll come across.
