Meet Teresa Graves | Dog Trainer & Behavior Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Teresa Graves and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Teresa, is there something you believe many others might not?
I’ve heard countless times that you have to grind hard to be successful. You have to work a ridiculous amount of hours daily and sacrifice your sleep and social life to get to where you want to be in life; and that’s just not true. If you’re completely burnt out all of the time you’re no good to anyone. It’s absolutely vital that you take care of self first because you can’t pour from an empty cup.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other dog trainers is that I teach more than just training techniques, I explain the psychology behind dog behaviors. I also focus on the overall well-being of a dog, such as health and natural remedies to common dog related ailments.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would take my hypothetical friend to visit La Jolla beach, my favorite beach in San Diego county. As far as night life, you can’t beat Gaslamp in downtown.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When it comes to dog training, my mentor has been professional dog trainer Tom Davis. Any time I had any questions about techniques I refer to Tom Davis’ work.
