We had the good fortune of connecting with Tarik Hagen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tarik, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Life is about taking risks. And anything worth having is going to involve hard work and taking a risk. Risk for me is a part of life so I am not a risk adverse person. I take calculated risks where I weigh the outcomes. Sometimes it is a gut feeling and sometimes it’s a leap of faith. I can guarantee you I would not be where I am without taking risks. Starting a business is taking a risk, posting content on social media is a risk, asking someone on a date is a risk. Once you get over the fear of failure taking risks becomes a lot easier. The most successful people in the world take risks all the time. You don’t have to be right every time, you just have to be right once.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I create comedy videos on all the big social media platforms. This is not my full time job but it is certainly a passion of mine. I am proud of the progres I have made over the years continually getting better and pushing myself. It was definitely not easy to get to this point. Years and years of practice and failing and I am still not even close to where I want to be but I am a lot farther than I was when I started. A lesson I have learned is to not care what others think. Especially in this space having that mindset with destroy you and prevent you from being your true self and putting yourself out there. I want the world to know that I am only getting started.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Have to take them to the beach and go surfing. That is a must do for someone visiting SoCal. Then grab some Mexican food!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family has been very supporting and always encouraged me to push myself and think for myself. There are some books or people to listen to out there that can help but ultimately it is up to you to take what they say and actually do something with it.
