We had the good fortune of connecting with Tanya Bugbee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanya, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success are two things. 1. My grandparents – they came to this country when they were 18 and 19 – got married and started a successful loving life together = and did not speak English. My grandfather’s first job was painting the Golden Gate Bridge and then he started his own painting company/ restoring cars. My grandmother started a Church and raised a family. I could not imagine better role models. Strength, Courage, Resilience, Compassion, Gratitude and Giving! 2. I also attribute my success to the care and individualization I give to my clients. Coaching is not a one size fits all profession. My clients see success and refer more business to me. My brand is one of caring, professionalism, knowledge, and fun. We do need to have some fun and humor on a call from time to time!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am passionate about supporting my clients in whatever they want to achieve. Supporting executives in companies such as Google, IBM, Chevron, and Salesforce has been extremely rewarding – those executives are truly wanting to be better more effective compassionate leaders and I come along side them and help them achieve their leadership goals. They also struggle with the new hybrid way of working and time management – and we coach on that as well. My business owners are needing to pivot to a new way of life, and they need support in budgeting, hiring, leading with clarity and compassion all while being profitable and efficient. What I have learned along the way is this: every human has their own speed and I have to allow that space to be safe and open for learning, experimenting, failing and ultimately succeeding. I have a coach to come along side me when I am stuck, unsure, voice in my head are being negative etc…. I believe every human would benefit from having a coach.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely hit La Costa Coffee Roasters to start our morning! Maybe a long walk along the strand in Carlsbad. I love the farmer’s markets – Little Italy, Vista, and such. I do know the owners of The Nutty Duo and would recommend a bad of granola. Super nice young couple trying to make it in San Diego! I love supporting local business owners. So much to see. Depending on their likes: The Zoo, Coronado, or The Flower Fields. Winding down we would hit The Local Tap House and then head home!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My shoutout is to my grandparents for modeling LEAPING and being resolute in your dreams. I have to do a Shout Out to the Movie The Wizard of Oz – we all have the brains, courage, heart, and desire to be home ALL ALONG! It is inside of us even if we don’t feel it. Shawshank Redemption is another movie that deserves a shout out – we all deserve to be at our Zihuatanejo. The book I read over and over: Dare to Lead by Brene Brown and Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod.
