We had the good fortune of connecting with Tami Waters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tami, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I would say I’m definitely the risky dreamer while my husband is the logical, bring me back down to earth one. With that being said risks have absolutely helped us get to where we are now with the business. We purchased the historic & sadly run-down victorian home we now call The Tipping Pointe right before covid hit. Which means we had a choice to make whether to keep pushing forward in creating this wedding venue when no one was getting married let alone gathering with anyone or walk away. I couldn’t walk away…… Which ended up being a blessing in so many facets.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what I’ve been most proud of is the development of my interior design career. It happened organically when I first moved back to the valley and without it I wouldn’t have had the vision for the Tipping Pointe business. The entire business and space is dedicated to aesthetics and art. The beauty of the space energetically is the relations it’s created in the little time it’s been open. It’s such an important thing we were missing for a while there and I’m happy to be apart of a little piece of that.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Best time ever… Food would definitely need to hit up the OG and underrated Livingstones which is conveniently located next door to Strummers (music venue) where we would check out a concert.

Next day would start at DABS tacos sooooo good. Followed by vintage shopping at YoshiNOw & Palm&Olive which have the best owners and goods.

Would hit up Modernist for some cocktails

Then

Shaver Lake is super fun and only a 45min drive to the mountains

We’re also wedged between Sequoia National Park and Yosemite National Park!!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so many I’d love to name, thankfully I’m surrounded by the loveliest creatives in the valley. I would say the biggest mentor for me in this business is Karen Clark of Edward Albert Design. Her and her husband Al have been a huge support whether it be in business questions or design fabrication. They are a super talented husband and wife duo here who can create pretty much anything you throw at them.
