We had the good fortune of connecting with Shani Marq and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shani, we’d love to start by asking you about lessons learned. Is there a lesson you can share with us?
The most important lesson my career has taught me is that consistency is key. I’ve learned that as long as I maintain consistency, no matter how long it takes, I will achieve my goals.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am most proud of my most recent career stride. I shot my first commercial campaign with forever 21 this Spring. The forever 21, Forever LA campaign was released on May 12th. It’s a commercial, print ad and time Square digital billboard. I’m super grateful for it and excited about this accomplishment because it was my first big campaign so far. There are certainly a lot of highs and lows in this industry and what I have learned so far is that you can never give up! I’ve learned patience and perseverance through this process.. these are the keys that lead to success.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite thing to do in the city: Rooftop Cinema Griffith Park Observatory Hike during sunset
The nice guy for dinner and drinks
Drive the PCH down to Orange County and layout at Laguna Beach
Karaoke in Koreatown. My favorite hangout spot is Laurel hardware.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shout out to my mothers. My great grandmother, my mom and my grandma. Without these three women I would not be the woman I am today. They sacrificed so much for me during my upbringing and I owe it all to them!
