Meet Sham Blak | Entrepreneur

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sham Blak and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sham, how do you think about risk?
Big risk big reward! I think unnecessary risks are dangerous and costly, but calculated risks and gamble give you a high. It’s like you could lose it all in this one bet, but also you can win big too. I never let the idea of losing be the sole decision maker on the risk, but what do I stand to gain. I’d rather take a calculated “L” with some growth and knowledge attached to it, then say go rob a bank and have to go to jail for a long time. The bank robbery just goofy, but let’s say I’m saving some money for an investment and after I invest my funds I have a change of heart or the business go sour. Now I know a little more about it, I’m okay with losing in that scenario because I didn’t lose I learned. That’s life. You aren’t gonna hit the ball 100% of your at bats, but if you been going to the batting cages and practicing your swing and hand eye coordination you will hit the ball more than not.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart from others is the simple fact that I’m me. It’s very cliche but it’s the truest thing ever. Some of my decisions and choices might look off or incomplete to others but to me it could be a little information I needed to make a decision that’s gonna help me in a few months down the road. I enjoy the long rang calendar and checking off tasks as they are completed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we need to know how long you come if you town and during which season. San Diego has so much to do that you could get lost tryna do it all. When they slid we in Barrio Logan as home base, Milpas, red and white taco shop, El Carrito, Border X brews, ¡Salud! tacos, Barrio Dogs, Hayes, Por Vida cafe and Walk the Block Saturdays with the vendors and the low riders.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
