We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Cavanaugh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The focus was to provide a high quality product for the environment that needs it. Deep tissue Massage is great for the San Diego community. The people of San Diego are tightly active and also very professional. This client base needs good therapeutic massage. Massage is a recession proof profession and not like to be automated any time soon.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The primary difference that sets us apart is the focus on preventative health measures. Currently we are one of the last Full Masked massage practices. Both client and therapists are fully masked all the time. This (while it shouldn’t be) is somewhat controversial, over time it has become an asset and allowed this business to cater to health compromised individuals as well and clients that might be care givers of children or elders. It also allows us to maintain the health of the therapists so that are able to attend more shift with out repeated illness.

Maintaining this focus as a permanent pat of the brand was not an anticipated choice, but it is necessary to adjust with the times. Part of the massage experience is to relax and many clients feel more relaxed when they know that everyone around them is focussed on their maximum safety.

As for the massage experience, the focus is on listening to the client and offering therapy that is designed to each clients specific needs, every one is different, and every therapist is motivated to listen and be accommodating at all times.

We pride ourselves on offering massage that is based on a deep understanding of anatomy and the most current practices, every therapist is focussed on helping every client reach their healing goals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d advise them visit to all the great out door locations in San Diego. But id start a quick hike on the potato chip trail, we can get a brunch any where in la Jolla, catch a view of the ocean and do to a Tango dance class at La Vie. Then drive toa view near Torrey Pines to view the sunset.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Loosen Up Bodywork in Walnut Creek and the owner Gina Tibbs is the biggest influence on this business and how it is operated.
