Meet Saúl Bacilio | Social Etrepreneur.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Saúl Bacilio and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Saúl, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When starting a project as an entrepreneur, one of the questions that I must solve at the beginning is the reason for the project. I have always thought that being an entrepreneur is one of the noble ways to help an environment and a community. I firmly believe that the world needs more people who invest their respective time in helping people through a project. Each project must be capable of promoting community work, offering an opportunity to those that society itself submerges into oblivion. Many times, I have heard that the terrain is not even, that many people are poor or live in misery because they want to; the reality is that many people in the world do not have the opportunity to have a decent life since the possibilities in these places to create a project or a company are minimal. That is why when starting a project, my main objective as an entrepreneur is to help my community. Preach by example those that it is possible to help others through social and responsible entrepreneurship.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel so proud; throughout my life it has been full of challenges but also great opportunities. I have big dreams and I will continue to work hard to achieve them. I have failed a few times, but I have also not given up and the most important thing is that I have been growing. When I was in college, I always tried to approach those social projects that the school had. Along the way, I learned many things that also helped me to have a more expensive view of the situation in which I found myself. Throughout my life of my university life, I always tried to be part of a project and take it to the real world. I tried and tried but to no avail. I got a job as a project manager in a construction company and everything was going well. Sometime later, the COVID-19 pandemic emerged and we all know what happened around the world. During that period, I lost my job and resumed my dreams of entrepreneurship. So I got in touch with friends, family and others to get an ideal partner and above all a business idea.
After several months of patience, things began to emerge. During this stage I have learned many things that have helped me grow as a person, I have learned to be more patient and above all to listen to others. It really is that you never know who could be your next partner or the ideal business idea to start. I will continue to work hard to share with the world that dreams come true, but for that, you have to work hard. That no matter the adversities that one faces when making a decision, one will have to be patient, meditate on the why of things and how to get out of those problems that stagnate us and do not let us take off.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I grew up in a community with limited economic resources, however my grandparents taught me to always be respectful towards people and nature. They are partly to blame for the person I have become. Throughout my life there are many people who have supported me, guided me, have been excellent mentors, and I will be eternally grateful. For now I am focused on a specific project called Rájná Artesanía Mexicana (@rajna.artesania.mx), which has as its main objective promote the culture and work of the ethnic group to which I belong Mazahua/Jñartjo.
