We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Shemirani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I am a mom to a 3 year old toddler and I think one thing I have done which my son will see, is that I am a multifaceted woman. Not only does he see me as a mother and caretaker, he also sees me as a career woman (a teacher by profession), and an entrepreneur who started a small business. I want my son to see women as more than just one dimension, and I think with how he is being raised he’s going to see that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My hair accessories are not only one of a kind, but something you will not see anywhere else. I am proud to source vintage unique products that I combine with modern accessories. I think it is important to not only have products that are beautiful but also functional, and affordable. When I first started this journey I struggled with the overwhelming information that I did not know or understand. Being a teacher my entire career I was brand new to the creator/marketing world.
What I want everyone to know is there is not better time than now. If you want to do something… do it. I was incredibly scared to start and continue this business but I’d rather be scared than not do it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I was to plan a day in San Diego I would: Start with Coffee at the Livingroom Cafe in College
Continue with vintage shopping in Hillcrest and Mission Hills
The have brunch a The Mission in North Park
Following Brunch take a long walk around Balboa Park
Go to La Jolla Cove to lay in the sun and relax
At night I would go to dinner at Et Voila in Normal Heights
And finish the evening with drink at Polite Provisions

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shout Out goes to my husband! Although there have been many people along my journey there isn’t anyone who has supported and guided me like my husband. Since the inception of my business he has encouraged me through the ups but more specifically the downs. I feel lucky to have such a supportive partner, because without him I wouldn’t be where I am.
