Meet Sabrina Silva | Digital Marketing Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabrina Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabrina, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Growing up I was always creative. It was my hobby 24/7 to draw, paint, craft, anything. When I went to college (for science) and I never seemed to be happy about the direction my career was going. It was my last year in college and my friend’s aunt approached me to sell skincare. I agreed however she didn’t have a website for me to send clients too. After months of waiting, I got impatient and told her I’d create her a website. Next thing I knew, I was designing marketing material, creating social posts, and assisting with any other business needs. That when I felt that could be my career and that’s exactly what happened.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I have 3 jobs. I am a part time Marketing Director for a Medical Spa, a full time Digital Marketing Specialist for a non-profit organization, and a free-lance marketing creator/web-designer.
I believe what sets me apart from others is that I fought to be where I am at. I didn’t go to school for my career and I wasn’t paid in the first 2-3 years. I taught myself everything I know. I worked my way to where I am and I will always be hungry for more.
It wasn’t easy by any means. There were times where I doubted myself and even questioned if I even like what I’m doing. There were times that those feelings turned into hatred towards my career. There were three things that got me through it. My faith, my trust in my intuition, and the people around me who reminded me of my potential and talent and supported me throughout my journey.
The biggest thing I learned is to be patient and never stop learning. When they say great things take time, they mean it. Sometimes that time means years but if you truly believe in yourself and in what you’re doing then it will happen. There will always be ups and downs but you can’t appreciate the highs without the lows.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If you come to PA, you need to visit New Hope, PA. It’s a beautiful area with a main strip of cool shops and great food.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My boss, Alicia Gillespie. She saw the potential in me to be great at what I do. She trusted my judgements and pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t know where possible. I wouldn’t be here without her faith in me as well as being an inspiration herself.
