Meet Ryker Baloun | Actor and entertainer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryker Baloun and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryker, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Southern California but most of my childhood took place in Hawaii. My circumstances provided insight into two very different walks of life, and I took the best from both worlds. I use entertainment and acting as an creative outlet and passion. Yet I try to maintain values that are stereotypically not associated with the entertainment industry. Like a rhinestone cowboy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art is acting or as I like to call it “Enlightening others of the human experience,” because that makes me sound so much smarter. Seriously, acting is an important and respectable craft. It’s not simply entertaining. It is addicting and unique. Exceptional acting takes self mastery along with commitment, vulnerability, and other introspective qualities. Not only is self mastery the overarching goal for my entire existence, it’s also apart of my job. In acting you have to believe intense circumstances and once you get into that world the camera has to capture you. It’s funny when you try and look inward without judgement or identifying with or labeling yourself, I often don’t know what I’m looking at. Acting is special as it transcends the physical. Throughout my professional storytelling journey I’ve faced many hurdles and overcome most of them with time. I’m continually learning. That was a lot, so thanks for listening to my Ted Talk.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
In order to maximize perceived amazingness I would first bring my good ol’ pal to downtown LA so they will experience extreme traffic. This is to lower their expectations. Then we’re off to Malibu, there this one restaurant on the beach, Paradise Cove. Then we take the scenic route and stop at a variety of attractions. We surf the coast, meet some friends, rock out in the car, go skydiving, tour Warner Brothers, and eat at some of the most icon restaurants from Boa Steak House to some of the infamous spicy chicken places. We could even go to an event at Sofi Stadium and tour the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It would be an epic adventure full of friends and BETRAYAL. Because at the end I’d drop them off at the LAX airport, WITH NO DIRECTIONS!! Oh I see it now! They will never make it out alive. This is how you make the trip truly unforgettable.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In my story the efforts of others are the primary reason that I’ve seen any success at all. My family and friends drive me to explore opportunities physically, as I haven’t yet earned my license, and metaphorically. So shoutout to my friends and family! P.S – Katie you’re amazing.
