We had the good fortune of connecting with Pearl Pearlman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Pearl, what matters most to you?
I think the value or principle that matters to me most is communication because it is the foundation of all success happening. When there is clear communication and everyone is on the same page, projects and deadlines can be accomplished with the most efficiency. It also makes people feel seen, heard, and cared about when they are informed and discussions are had before decisions are made.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I think what sets me apart from most other people is the breath and depth of things that I do. On any given day I can be doing a number of different things ranging from teaching yoga, and yoga teacher trainings, doing partner acrobatics, making seriously delicious pickles, doing a fire spinning performance, rock climbing outside, exploring my passion for baking, creating art, doing improv comedy, and the list goes on. I have such a passion for life and its not limited to just one aspect of it but my love for life is in everything that I do. I truly live an incredible life filled with activity, and helping others on so many different levels.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my friend to Trilogy Sanctuary in La Jolla, it is such a unique spot of aerial yoga, vegan cafe, eco-boutique, and some incredible conscious events. Afterwards, I would take them to Sunset Cliffs for sunset, duh. And I would also take them to Ocean Beach on Wednesdays for the Acro Yoga Jam and Farmers Market. I would also take them to Kate Sessions because I think it’s the best view of San Diego in my opinion.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to thank my Dad for being a huge support for me in so many different ways, and more specifically with me becoming a yoga teacher. I would also love to thank Mesa Rim for giving me the opportunity and platform to expand the communities of both climbing and yoga. And the entire Acro Yoga community here in San Diego for being fun, playful, and inspiring.
