We had the good fortune of connecting with Paula Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Paula, what do you attribute your success to?
God’s love is the secret sauce in everything that I do! He has placed a gift inside me that fuels my desire to reach, encourage, and lead women to a deeper relationship with Him. I am convinced that because He has created each of us for His pleasure, that we’ll find true purpose in life through relationship with Him. I teach the Bible with simple language and meet hearts through humor and the rawness of real life. God’s love does all the heavy lifting in this process!
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a women’s pastor and my first ministry is loving Jesus in return! Everything I do flows from the knowledge and truth that God loves me. God has chosen me to reflect Him in this generation to the world in a way that He’s designed only me to do. Everyone is created by Him on purpose, FOR purpose to do the same. This truth infuses tremendous value into everyday life and yields perspective in the midst of suffering and adversity. My job is to reach every heart that God puts in my path with His love and to help everyone (including you~ whoever is reading this) KNOW that He loves you too! You matter. I pastored in a large church in Carlsbad for 10 years and now speak nationally beyond the border of one church to all audiences. In addition, I lead Bible studies and am currently authoring one as well. I mentor women professionally and speak at women’s classes, conferences, and retreats, wherever God opens doors. I share His love at the grocery store, through kindness, with the same passion that I would in front of a group of hundreds. I choose every day to bless the one(s) in front of me and add value to others’ lives.
God has a message of hope, healing, and a call to love and purpose, for the world to know. It’s not exclusive but rather the FREE gift of GRACE, and it’s all inclusive! God’s message is simple; that’s what I teach.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am very partial to Swami’s Beach. My family and I spent a year living there and fell in love with that little space on this earth! Multiple North County wineries nearby are really special too.
I am a Hooked on Sushi fan (@hookedonsushi) but must say a rival is a tiny little Italian joint in a San Marcos strip mall called Sorrento’s Pizza & Pasta (@sorrentospizzapasta). The two Italian sisters, who have owned this place since 1976, pour their hearts and souls into every batch of sauce that is made. It is remarkable!
I would take my BFF to North Coast Church in Vista (@northcoastchurch) with me for a weekend service. We would worship at the top of our lungs and take in some soul-watering Bible teaching from Pastor(s) Larry Osborne, Chris Brown, or Christopher Hilken. They’re all extraordinary Bible teachers.
And we would spend time sitting at my own kitchen island, drinking some perfectly chilled California wines while talking with my husband who is ‘the most interesting man in the world’ (our college age sons would join in if they were home for a break)!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The women of multiple churches that I’ve been privileged to serve and in which to grow, have made all the difference in my relationship with God. As a new follower of Jesus at age 31, I had never opened a Bible before. Several women grabbed hold of me and gently led me into the Scriptures and helped me find answers to so many of the questions that I had! Community is everything. Now, I have very close friends who hold me accountable and love me daily with God’s love and Truth, as I lead others to Him.
