We had the good fortune of connecting with Nelson Pizarro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nelson, what do you attribute your success to?
I believe the most important factor of our success and brand would be consistence. We have been successful because our wines have stayed consistently good and our customer service have been friendly, inviting and family first approach.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Since we are a family owed winery located in Ramona Valley just 35 miles east of Downtown San Diego there are always excited things that happen to us. Am most proud of the way we handle our customers. We want everyone to feel like family. The way we got where we are today is a lot of hard work, money and most important wine members! Business will never be easy if it was everyone will start there own business. The lessons I learn along the way was time, consistence and be creative. Be patience while you grow your book of business. Do not expect to reach 1000 customer within 1 day. Staying consistent with your wine, employees and customer service. The creativity part was the app that I created. It is called San Diego Wine Tasting App and it FREE. This was another way we help build not only our awareness but also the valleys brand! It is easy to cut corners to save money here and there but in the long run you will be damaging the consistence that you built. Overall, I want the world to know we are a family friendly, amazing wine, great customer winery!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would recommend them to stay in Escondido at a cabin called The Ranch at Bandy Canyon. It is a beautiful place with cabins, pool, a small river running though and surrounded by trees and mountain. I will have them go on a hike at Potato chip rock which is a 1-3 hour hike there and back. Then I would have them go to Farmhouse 78 which is one of the best restaurants in Ramona area. After that they can stop by our winery, enjoy big bold wines with a beautiful view of the hike they just did Potato Chip rock.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a huge shout out to our wine members. Throughout this 2020 year they have always supported us; not only with purchasing wine but also word of mouth and social media. I want to thank you guys for all the support!
