Meet Natalie Robbins

We had the good fortune of connecting with Natalie Robbins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natalie, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m originally from Orange County, where I was raised with a deep sense of community and family. Hard work, dedication, and service were core values instilled in me from an early age. My parents and grandparents played a huge role in shaping who I am, always surrounding me with support and reminding me that failure was just part of learning and growing.
Now, as a mother and business owner, I see how those same values continue to guide me. Empowerment, resourcefulness, and community are at the heart of everything I do—both in my personal life and in my work. Through my coaching, I support individuals as they work to align their aspirations with what matters most to them, creating careers and lives that truly reflect their priorities.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the founder of Pivot in Power, where I partner with individuals who want to build a life that aligns with what matters most to them. My coaching approach is rooted in empowerment, resourcefulness, and community—helping people define success on their own terms and take intentional steps toward the life and work they truly want.
My journey to entrepreneurship wasn’t something I initially planned. I was a corporate tech leader, building and leading teams, when I was laid off. That moment, while unexpected, gave me the opportunity to pause, step into full-time parenting, and reflect on what I truly wanted next. When I was ready to re-enter the workforce, I realized that traditional career advice often focused only on the next job title or salary increase—without acknowledging the bigger picture of how work fits into a fulfilling life. That’s when I knew I wanted to create something different.
Starting Pivot in Power wasn’t easy. Entrepreneurship pushed me to reframe success, trust myself, and get comfortable with uncertainty. There were moments of doubt, but I overcame them by leaning into my values, building a strong support system, and remembering why I started this journey in the first place.
What I want the world to know about Pivot in Power is that navigating career and life changes isn’t just about making a move—it’s about creating a life that works for you. Whether someone is re-evaluating their priorities, exploring new opportunities, or figuring out their next step, they deserve a path forward that honors both their ambitions and what truly matters to them. And I’m here to partner with them every step of the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d want to take them on a trip that blends nostalgia with a little bit of discovery. Since I’m newer to San Diego, I’d highlight the places I grew up loving in Orange County while also exploring some of what my new home has to offer.
Day 1: Welcome & Coastal Views
We’d kick things off in Laguna Beach—walking along Main Beach, exploring the art galleries, and catching the sunset at Las Brisas, where we’d enjoy margaritas with the best ocean view.
Day 2: Historic Orange & Local Eats
We’d head to The Orange Circle, one of my favorite places growing up. We’d start with a delicious Cuban meal at Felix’s, where the food is incredible and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. Afterward, we’d explore the antique shops, stop for a coffee at one of the cozy cafés, and take in the charm of the historic district.
Day 3: Newport Beach & Balboa Fun
No visit would be complete without a day in Newport. We’d rent bikes and ride along the boardwalk, take the ferry over to Balboa Island for a frozen banana (a classic!), and maybe even get on the water with a Duffy boat ride.
Day 4: San Diego Exploration
Since I’m still newer to San Diego, this day would be about discovering the city together! We’d start in La Jolla to see the sea lions, grab tacos at The Taco Stand, and then explore Balboa Park. If we’re feeling adventurous, maybe a hike at Torrey Pines to soak in those incredible coastal views.
Day 5: Relax & Wine Tasting
We’d slow things down with a spa morning—Glen Ivy Hot Springs in Corona would be perfect for a little self-care. Then, we’d head to Temecula Wine Country for wine tasting and a relaxing afternoon.
Day 6: Beach & Bonfire
One of my favorite things about Southern California is the beach culture, so we’d spend the day at Huntington Beach, soaking up the sun. In the evening, we’d have a beach bonfire—complete with s’mores and reminiscing about old times.
Day 7: Farewell Brunch & Scenic Drive
To wrap up the trip, we’d have a leisurely brunch at Snooze or Great Maple in San Diego, then take the scenic drive down the coast, stopping at lookout points along the way to take in the last bit of that SoCal magic.
By the end of the week, my best friend would not only get a taste of where I grew up but also a glimpse into my new chapter in San Diego!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to dedicate this shoutout to my family, who played such a huge role in my journey. They supported me in taking a chance on myself—leaving my corporate career, stepping into full-time parenting, and ultimately returning to the workforce as an entrepreneur. My husband, especially, has been unwavering in his support, encouraging me to trust my path even when it felt uncertain.
I also want to recognize the Institute for Coaching Excellence—its founders, instructors, staff, and my fellow cohort members. This inclusive program not only sharpened my coaching skills but also provided a space where I could show up fully—as a professional, a wife, and a mother. The support and community I found there have been invaluable in shaping the way I now partner with others in their own transitions.
