We had the good fortune of connecting with Muhumuza Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Muhumuza, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
The amount of planning and preparation that goes into each shot or scene and the post-production process.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a photographer and my photography is unique because it reflects my individual perspective, experiences, and artistic vision. I have developed a personal style and way of seeing the world through my camera lens. Getting to where I am today was not easy, as it required hard work, dedication, and continuous learning.
Along my journey, I faced challenges such as mastering technical skills, finding my niche, and dealing with competition. However, I overcame these challenges by constantly pushing myself to improve, seeking inspiration from other photographers, experimenting with different techniques, and staying open to feedback.
Throughout this process, I have learned valuable lessons. I discovered the importance of perseverance and not giving up on my passion, even when faced with obstacles. Secondly, I learned the significance of taking risks and stepping out of my comfort zone to achieve growth and innovation in my work, and also realized the value of building connections and networking with others in the industry, as they can provide support, guidance, and opportunities for collaboration.
My journey in photography has been a continuous process of self-discovery, growth, and improvement. It has taught me valuable lessons and shaped my unique style, making my work stand out.
