Meet Monica Abarientos | Beauty Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Abarientos and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monica, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my beauty content creator journey because I’ve always loved art and making people feel pretty, so it felt perfect to help & inspire others while doing what I enjoy.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is all about creativity and self-expression, blending beauty and personal style to help people feel confident. What sets me apart is my focus on relatable content that connects with others, making beauty feel accessible and fun. I’m most proud of how I’ve built a supportive community where we celebrate each other’s uniqueness.
I got to where I am today through a mix of passion, dedication, and learning from my mistakes. It wasn’t easy; there were times I felt unsure about my path. I overcame challenges by staying true to my vision, seeking advice, and constantly improving my skills.
One key lesson I’ve learned is that growth often comes from stepping out of my comfort zone. I want the world to know that my brand is about more than just beauty, it’s about empowerment, creativity, and helping others feel their best, inside and out.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend visited San Diego for a week, I’d plan this fun itinerary:
Day 1: Start with breakfast at The Cottage in La Jolla, then explore La Jolla Cove. Dinner at Tacos El Gordo and drinks at The Rooftop by STK.
Day 2: Beach day at Mission Beach with smoothies from Juice Wave. Dinner at Pacific Beach Fish Shop and a walk on the boardwalk.
Day 3: Brunch at Great Maple, then visit Balboa Park. Dinner at The Prado and drinks at Half Door.
Day 4: Brunch at Morning Glory, hike at Torrey Pines, dinner at George’s at the Cove, and nightlife at Barleymash.
Day 5: Breakfast at Café 21, explore Little Italy, lunch at Bencotto, dinner at Born & Raised, and stroll around Seaport Village.
Day 6: Bike around Coronado Island, lunch at Peohe’s, and drinks at Coronado Brewing Company.
Day 7: Farewell brunch at The Mission, visit the USS Midway Museum, and dinner at Kettner Exchange.
This week would be packed with food, fun, and amazing views!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family and friends for supporting me all the time
