We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda Carnicle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miranda, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
As a business owner, I’ve learned that taking risks is essential to growth—both personally and professionally. When I opened Rose + Honey Skincare, it was the same week the world shut down due to COVID. Talk about uncertain timing. I had just invested everything into building this dream space, only to have the world hit pause. It was equal parts surreal and terrifying—but I believed in my vision: to create a space that offered results-driven skincare in a warm, welcoming, and elevated environment.

I’ve come to think of risk not as something to fear, but as something to respect. Every major decision—from navigating pandemic closures, to hiring my first employee, to expanding my services—has involved a level of uncertainty. But those risks have led to some of the most rewarding moments in my career.

Even now, as I look to grow Rose + Honey with future locations, I remind myself that smart risk-taking is what got me here in the first place. It pushes you to think creatively, make bold moves, and trust your intuition.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At Rose + Honey Skincare, we specialize in corrective, results-driven treatments delivered in a warm, elevated spa environment. What sets us apart is our ability to blend advanced skincare with a deeply personal and relaxing experience. We don’t just treat skin—we support real people with real skin concerns.

What I’m most proud of is the space we’ve created. When clients walk through our doors, they feel cared for, understood, and empowered. Our treatments go beyond surface-level solutions—we address skin clinically, using proven modalities paired with a deep understanding of skin health. And we’re always evolving, whether it’s through new technology, advanced training, or refining the client experience.

If there’s one thing I want the world to know about Rose + Honey, it’s that we’re more than a skincare clinic. We’re a space where people feel safe to show up exactly as they are, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves. Our story is rooted in grit, intention, and an unapologetic love for what we do—and I truly believe that’s what shines through in every treatment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting San Diego for a week, I’d plan a mix of relaxation, amazing food, and local gems. We’d start with facials at Rose + Honey, then explore spots like Sunset Cliffs, La Jolla Cove, and Little Italy for the farmers market. We’d brunch, sip wine in Temecula, grab tacos in TJ, and enjoy sunset cocktails. Whether it’s kayaking in La Jolla, catching a live show, or road-tripping to Julian for apple pie, there’s no shortage of magic here. San Diego is full of soul, sunshine, and seriously good food—it’s the perfect place to make unforgettable memories.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, my family—especially my husband—has been my rock throughout this journey. From late-night pep talks to celebrating every small win, their constant support has meant everything to me.

I also owe so much to my friends. They’ve been some of my biggest cheerleaders—encouraging me, showing up for events, and reminding me of my “why” whenever things felt overwhelming. Their belief in me has helped carry me through the highs and lows of entrepreneurship.

A huge shoutout goes to my amazing team at Rose + Honey as well. Their passion, talent, and heart are what bring our vision to life. I’m incredibly proud of the space we’ve created together.

And of course, I’m endlessly grateful for our clients—especially those who trusted us when we opened during the chaos of 2020. Their loyalty, referrals, and kind words have helped this business grow in ways I could have only dreamed of.

It truly takes a village, and I’m so lucky to be surrounded by one full of love, encouragement, and inspiration.
