Meet Michael Delgado | Coach / Founder of The Heavy Breathing Foundation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Delgado and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Heavy Breathing Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes strength as a culture and empowers individuals through physical culture and mental health awareness. Our mission is to help individuals build strength, confidence, and resilience through the practice of powerlifting and strength training. We offer training programs, workshops, seminars, and events that focus on proper lifting techniques, goal-setting, and mental health management.
What sets us apart from others is our focus on mental health and our commitment to fostering a sense of community. We believe that physical and mental health are interconnected, and we offer resources and support to individuals who are struggling with mental health issues. We also create a community of like-minded individuals who support and inspire each other to achieve their goals.
Getting to where we are today has not been easy. As a non-profit organization, we rely on donations and sponsorships to fund our programs and initiatives. It can be challenging to secure funding and partnerships, but we have overcome these challenges through persistence, hard work, and our commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
One of the most important lessons we have learned is the power of community. We have seen firsthand how a supportive community can inspire and motivate individuals to achieve their goals. We also believe in the power of education and providing individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to succeed.
Overall, we want the world to know that the Heavy Breathing Foundation is more than just a gym or a non-profit organization. We are a community of individuals who share a passion for strength and mental health, and we are committed to making a positive impact in the world. Whether you are an experienced powerlifter or a beginner looking to improve your physical and mental health, we welcome you with open arms.
In addition to our training programs and events, we are also proud to work with public schools to help guide kids on the right path through mentorship and workshops. We believe that building strength and resilience should begin at a young age, and we are committed to empowering the next generation of leaders through our programs.
Our workshops focus on goal-setting, mental health management, and building self-confidence. We provide mentorship and guidance to kids who may not have access to positive role models or resources. By partnering with schools, we can reach a larger audience and make a positive impact on the community.
Through our work with public schools, we hope to inspire kids to embrace strength as a culture and develop the skills they need to succeed in all areas of life. We believe that by empowering young people, we can create a stronger, more resilient community for generations to come.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would definitely take them to Iron Mongers Gym for a great training session. After working up a sweat, we would head down to North Park to grab coffee at Caffeine & Green and check out some of the amazing art and culture in the area. From there, we would head over to Adams Avenue and Downtown San Diego to explore some of the interesting and exciting people, places, and things to check out.
One of my favorite spots in the area is Oceanside, so I would definitely take my friend there to hang out on the 101 and soak up the beautiful views. San Diego is an amazing city with so much to offer, whether you’re into art, culture, food, or just hanging out at the beach.
San Diego has some of the best restaurants and eateries around, so we would definitely hit up some of my favorite spots for some great food and drinks. Whether we’re in the mood for sushi, tacos, or burgers, there’s always a great spot to grab a bite just depends what area we land in.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to give a special shoutout to my wife, Amber.
Her unwavering support and encouragement has been instrumental in my journey towards strength and success.
She has stood by me through the mental ups and downs, she was there for all my injuries, and has been a constant source of love and positivity.
She has never told me I’m not capable of the dreams I have.
Without her, I may not have been able to achieve all that I have. Thank you, Amber, for being an incredible lady friend and supporting me in all my crazy endeavors. You are a my anchor!
