Meet Melissa Ho | Lifestyle & Motherhood Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Ho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I’m taking a different spin on this question. As a micro influencer and content creator, it can be hard putting yourself out there. You are constantly battling with yourself and your insecurities that tell you not to post or make you wonder what people will think. It wasn’t until I stopped caring and finally taking those small risks and I was able to develop my Instagram into content creation. Each and every post posed a risk for myself, my mental health, and my confidence. However, I let my confidence grow with each and every risk and I have become more and more comfortable with putting myself out there and being my true self.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Once I became a stay at home mom, I had more time on my hands. I was looking for mom hacks or fun places to take my kids and I started stumbling onto motherhood bloggers and it peaked my interest. I also wanted to find ways to entertain my kids and I thought why not work with brands my kids love because there’s nothing more genuine than that. I also have always had a deep love for photography and being creative. I love making things from vlogs to funny videos. I love getting on some of those Tik Tok trends! It wasn’t easy getting started. In fact, it can be scary because so many things go through your head when trying to build a social media presence. I’m not where I want to be yet. I want to grow my community on Instagram and Tik Tok and keep expanding my brand as I go. Most importantly, this is so fun for me. I love sharing my ideas and things I love, hoping it can help even ONE person! I’m most proud of that I don’t give up. Anyone that works as a content creator knows how easy it is to give up. It is so much harder than people think, like so much harder haha. I’m learning things along the way to optimize my profile and utilize tools that I can. I always try to stay up to date on all the tech updates and what not. I try to stay on top of the trends as well. I just want people to know that I have a big heart that I want to share with the world. I promise I have a good one.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is hard…I live in the La La land aka Los Angeles! Ok here we go…let’s go bestie!
Monday we are going to start the week with a hike. I JUST completed the Hollywood Sign hike so we would start there. For lunch we would have to smash an In ‘n Out Burger and shake! (Nicely earned after our hike). For dinner, we can keep it low key and hit one of the newer vegan spots around town!
Tuesday will be a beach day! You can never go wrong with a beach day in Malibu. We can go to Leo Carrillo Beach but before we do, we will hit Neptune’s Nest to grab some lunch so we can eat at the beach. We will keep dinner low key again and grab some delicious Thai food around town.
Wednesday we can hit a couple museums around Los Angeles. Maybe LACMA? Maybe the Getty? (The Getty is my favorite! My hubby proposed to me there!) We can grab lunch around town and for dinner we can try a delicious meal by the beach perhaps? Maybe Moonshadows? Yay! Let’s go!
Thursday we can hang out at the Santa Monica Pier and ride all the rides and play the arcade games. We can grab lunch there as well. For dinner we can find a great place to eat on Third Street in Santa Monica.
TGIF! Let’s go to Citywalk! We can check out Universal Studios! Surprise, let’s get our Harry Potter on! We will be here all day and all night with alllll the goodies!
Saturday we can take a nice beach hike and for dinner we can get fancy and have dinner at Firefly in Studio City. It has the best fried olives and a nice glass of rose!
Sunday we will rest, because girl I’m tired! Lol

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my family for always being down for my crazy shenanigans and for being apart of it with me. I also want to thank someone who I look at as a mentor, Naza Holliman. She is the founder of The Mommy Blogger Tribe and a long time friend and she inspired me to want to get into blogging and creating a social media prescence.
