We had the good fortune of connecting with Megan Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Megan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I was in High school I was a part of a ROP class for floristry. It was a easy A and I actually ended up liking the design and creativity the class brought. After high school I worked at a couple flower shops in the area and then decided I wanted to specialize in weddings and special events. That is when my company was born and we took off. At first we designed for friends and family and that quickly gained momentum by word of mouth and our company has been blossoming ever since.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My company is a floral design and event management company. Since we have launched in 2006, we have added several services for our clients to take advantage of. Not only do we specialist in weddings and special events such as funerals, sweet 16, Quinces etc, we also offer wedding and event planning along with rentals. We now have the staffing to open our coverage area from San Diego to Santa Barbra. We continue to grow everyday.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to spend time with family and friends. When my friends come to my town to visit we always go to La Casita Cantina in Yucaipa. They have the best Mexican food and candy shots in the area. There is great shopping in Palm Springs or the outlets in Cabazon.
Everyone always also enjoys the beach and Huntington is our closest beach. The pier always has a ton of fun people.
If we head in to the LA area, we have to eat at Philippe The original for some roast beef sandwiches.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would have to credit my success to my high school florist teacher. She really allowed me to find my passion for designing and creativity. Her name, oddly enough was Mrs. Brown lol.
