We had the good fortune of connecting with Marylin Muro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marylin, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I never thought of my career to be artistic until I spoke with my parents and they were worried about how I could make a living out of film. When I pursued film I already had the idea that I wanted to open my own business and create a name for myself. At a young age I was taught about profit and revenue. Art is beautiful but it is irrelevant if no one sees it. Art is o only affective when it has an audience, I believe pure art and business tactics are essential for this type of career.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is run with passion and love for my clients. My end goal is to make someone’s life just a little easier in anyway I can. I can happily say that I have seen how my company has impacted businesses and companies in a positive way. I have poured my blood, sweat and tears into my company and most importantly my reputation. The reputation I have now did not come easy, there were long painful hours that no one knew about that allowed me to create some of my best work. One of the many lessons I’ve learned is to never give up, failing is part of the process. If you never fail at what you’re doing then you aren’t dreaming big enough. The world is going to try to shut you up and force you to give up on your dreams but once you push through and see the beauty of your work than it will be worth it. We are not meant to fit in, I never did. I decided one day that if I am meant to stand out then I might as well stand proud. In my career I have had most people tell me I won’t make it but that is the perfect thing to say to me because I will prove to myself that I can make it in this career and no one will get in my way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown San Diego, Old town Temecula, Old town San Diego, Oceanside are all great places. All these places have multiple restaurants and activities for you to enjoy all week long.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many people who have been a tremendous help in my journey. My parents were the first because without their support I wouldn’t have the passion and drive to follow my dreams. Even though they were a little hesitant at first, they became huge supporters after seeing what I could do. Not many people are allowed to give their dreams a chance and my parents allowed me a chance.
