Meet Mary Mosier | Bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Self Love Advocate & Speaker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mary Mosier and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I grew up in Orange County California in a multiethnic(European-Mexican) household in a marginalized community where there was financial inequities and lack of resources. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 3 which made me aware how precious life is and in ways made me grow up a bit faster because of it . I experienced both love and hardship growing up which impacted the way I now choose to move in the world. I always knew even as a child that I wanted to help people which lead me to becoming a therapist. My purpose is to show folks they are worth loving and living the life they want despite the stories they’ve been told.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a bilingual Trauma Psychotherapist. My clinical practice specializes in trauma, inner child healing and self love and how our intersectionality deeply impacts or sense of self and lives. Beyond modalities, theories and certifications, I support folks in connecting with their innate capacity to heal and self compassion development. What drew me to becoming a therapist is my innate interest in how our experiences effect our sense of self, and my passion in helping people grow and step out of their pain and into their light and understand their value.
My mission is to help folks believe their life is worth living and that they deserve to be loved in spite of what they have been told.
I work with marginalized communities including Spanish speaking, PoC, youth, LGBTQIA+, individuals with Autism &/or Nuerodivergent identified, those living with Diabetes and other medical conditions, and providing therapy in both English and Spanish to help children, youth and their families find their voice, heal, repair relationships and eliminate the stigma of mental health treatment in Spanish speaking communities. Providing services in Spanish is very important to my work in creating accessibility. I provide Telehealth sessions and walk and talk sessions in nature settings to support folks with grounding and nervous system regulation. Nature is so healing and a wonderful way to somatically connect with nature.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Because I love nature and lattes I would one of my favorite coffee shops Contra at the Orange Circle. They have iced coffees and teas on tap and offer flight samplers. For a bite to eat, there’s a vegan Mexican spot in Fullerton that I love called Vegana Chicana they have the best sopes, For a relaxing stroll, the Fullerton Aborretum is relaxing as well as Talbert Regional Park in Costa Mesa. If your in the mood for a relaxing and easy costal hike I highly recommend Torrey Pines SNR in San Diego the sunsets are majestic.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My dad, Robert Mosier, who is no longer with us deserves the biggest shoutout for sure. The way he loved and compassionately supported others impacted my life so deeply.
