Meet Marlyssa Gonzaba | Medical Esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlyssa Gonzaba and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marlyssa, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
In my personal opinion some habits that helped me to fulfill success was literally taking everything one step at a time and not to over load. Things like setting goals daily and prioritizing certain task were very critical for me. I love to write things down to continuously remind myself of my goals and why I’m striving for greatness. I also am a firm believer in taking care of myself and when I need to recharge or take necessary breaks. This really helps me to stay productive and focus on what my goals are.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being in this industry is full of never ending learning and always new technologies or products. I have seen all types of skin and the most rewarding thing about this industry is correcting peoples concerns and seeing how confident they feel afterwards. Many feel very voulnaerable talking about things like aging or acne and to help them feel comfortable and know this is a safe place is very rewarding. Getting to where I’m at today was all from extra work like trainings live webinars and staying on top of what is the latest in the industry. If there is one thing I’ve learned is there is always going to be people out there who aren’t fully going to support you and its important you stay true to yourself and continue to push out the content and market yourself and learn to not care about what someone thinks.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Were defidently going to a cute coffee shop and then going to din tai dung where the food is amazing there. Maybe go hangout at a nice little ambiance bar where there’s good music and cute drinks!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my dad he really encourages me and truly believes in me more than anyone I know. He is always there to supports any ideas that come to mind and gives me the best advice. He is one of the most hardworking people I know! He is never making excuses to why he can’t do something and just doing what needs to get done and for that I truly admire him, his drive to never give up no matter what curve ball life has to throw he’s shown me I can get through anything. Another shoutout that seriously has leveled up my mindset is listening to podcast and reading self development books. Some of my favorite podcasters Rob dial mindset mentor, Ed Mylett, the skinny confidential and so much more. Some reads that are amazing for mindset, Atomic habits, Think like a monk, unf*ck yourself, The subtle art of not giving a f*uck.
