Meet Mark Lowe | Film Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Lowe and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve always been a bit of a self-starter, and I get excited about pushing things forward in my own way. That’s gotten me into trouble at times when working for others.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an artist in the general sense, but my current medium is film. I’m finishing my Film & TV Production degree at the University of Southern California. I fought hard to be where I am now. I graduated high school near the bottom of my class and have somehow done the impossible. I plan on doing the impossible a few more times in my career.
It hasn’t been an easy road because I become obsessive and, at times, overwork myself. I’ve learned to balance things emotionally and professionally by leaning more on friends, family, and colleagues I trust instead of trying to tackle everything myself. You can’t survive in this business alone.
Right now, my team and I have a feature film and a short in the works. We’re really excited to share them both with you all.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Love this question! Ramen and boba on Convoy is a must! Hiking at Ho Chi Minh trail, coffee and treats at Izola, the best BBQ in the city at Abbey’s in Miramar. Basically every local brewery in North Park. The Lafayette is great too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people…my family, first and foremost. Mom, Dad, and my siblings. They’ve always made me feel like I could do anything and have encouraged me every step of the way. Cy Kuckenbaker, one of my professors, Christine Polvorosa, and Brytani Musik, two incredible women who served as mentors along with Josef Patterson, one of the toughest, kindest, and best leaders and men I’ve ever known. I can’t forget the boys, my dear friends. They know who they are.
