We had the good fortune of connecting with Marion Weist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marion, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is a funny thing. I don’t really believe that it’s risk adverse or fear of risk that holds people back. What if we look at risk as a symptom of something else? When you think of risk it really is the fear of failure or fear of letting someone or myself down. In business it’s not really judging risk like if I was a base jumper or shark researcher. Thats more life and death and a different than someone who needs to do a presentation or needs to network. Like many people, I had irrational fears of risk starting out. But what was really behind it was fear of making a ‘bad’ decision or losing money. But the only way to know everything is ok is to do it and find out 2 things; 1) did it work? 2) what needed to be different? Any business person can tell you they didn’t always make money on their advertising or their investments, but they did learn how to do it better or different the next time.
How to mitigate what we know as risk is to surround yourself with people who have done what you are trying to do before and model what worked for them. They may even mentor you to guide you through your own business building.
I know the only way I have been successful is learning from teachers who know more than I do and having a mentor.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets me apart from other hypnotists/clinics/training schools? I think that can only be answered by the thousands of clients and their testimonials of their success. From the couple that lost 40 lbs together in 6 months or the woman who had been a life long smoker and quit within days of her consultation, but these are just a few examples. We have the most ethical training that focuses on clients outcomes as our #1 goal and we are only as successful as our clients. We give 100% to every aspect of business (advertising, networking, social media, speaking events) knowing its not about us but about the person that needs a new skillset to become the person they want to be.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being born and raised in east county there are hidden gems out here. I am from Viejas and my father Clarence Brown Sr was very vital to many aspects of east county, from a baseball field named after him in Alpine at what is now Creekside Elementary or his statue at Mission Trails Regional Park Visitor center, along with my footprints and my bothers in the amphitheater. So those are always fun things to show people who have never been to San Diego. But Eating up at The outpost in Mt Laguna is always a beautiful and different view of San Diego. Lake Murray for walking or biking. San Diego isn’t all beaches, it is so diverse!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have only had success in my life, business, and relationships due to Scott & Heather McFall and the Trainer team with the Master Hypnotist Society.
