Meet Lizette De Leon | Aesthetic Injector | Owner of Dos Skin

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizette De Leon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lizette, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business wasn’t just a career move, it was a calling. I’ve always had a passion for aesthetics and a deep love for helping people feel confident in their own skin. After years of working in the industry and learning from some of the best, I realized I wanted to create something of my own, something that reflected both my personal values and the kind of care I believe every patient deserves.
I didn’t want to just offer treatments; I wanted to build a space that felt warm, welcoming, and rooted in trust. A place where relationships mattered just as much as results. Starting my own business gave me the freedom to do things the right way, putting patient care, safety, and education at the center of everything. It’s been a journey of hard work, growth, and passion, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Dos Skin was born from a dream, a lot of late nights, and an even deeper passion for making people feel confident and beautiful in their own skin. What sets us apart isn’t just the treatments we offer, it’s the care, intention, and experience we pour into every single appointment. We created a space that feels elevated yet approachable, where clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.
What I’m most proud of is that this isn’t just a business, it’s something my husband Eddie and I built together from the ground up. As a nurse injector, I put my heart into every treatment, and Eddie, my husband and business partner, is the visionary behind the scenes who keeps everything moving. This is our shared dream, and every win feels like something we’ve earned side by side.
Our name, Dos, is more than just a word, it’s a reflection of who we are. “Dos” means “two” in Spanish, and it represents our partnership, not only in business, but in love and life. It’s also a nod to our Mexican roots and my identity as a proud Latina. Culture, family, and heritage are a huge part of our story, and we carry those values into our business every single day. From the warmth we show our clients to the pride we take in our craft, everything we do is grounded in where we come from.
Getting here was far from easy. Starting a business, especially in aesthetics, came with more obstacles than we could’ve imagined. We had to learn the business side, understand medical compliance, build a loyal client base, and invest every ounce of energy (and savings) into making it work. There were moments of doubt, but we kept showing up, kept learning, and kept believing in our mission.
I’ve learned that passion only gets you so far, it’s consistency, resilience, and community that carry you forward. We’ve grown because of the people who believed in us, shared our name, and trusted us with their care. That’s something we never take for granted.
What I want the world to know is that Dos Skin is more than injectables or skincare, it’s about empowering people to feel confident and cared for. It’s luxury with heart. It’s heritage with purpose. And it’s only the beginning.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to visit me in Orange County for a week, I’d make sure they had the best time ever. We’d kick things off with brunch at Zinc Café in Laguna Beach, then head to Crystal Cove or Thousand Steps Beach to relax and take in that classic SoCal vibe. We’d catch the sunset at Top of the World and have dinner at Nick’s in Laguna, one of my favorite spots for a cozy, elevated meal.
We’d definitely do a day trip to L.A. too. I’d take them to Grand Central Market for tacos or pupusas, walk around The Broad or the Getty for a dose of art and culture, and then end the day with dinner at Catch or Elephante for rooftop views and fun energy. Of course, we’d have to stop for dessert at Salt & Straw, always worth the line.
Back in the OC, we’d have a full “glow-up” day. I’d treat them to a little pampering at Dos Skin (because obviously!), maybe some Botox, a microneedling session, or a custom treatment to get that skin glowing. Then we’d lunch at Malibu Farm in Lido Marina Village, shop around Fashion Island, and have a chill wine night to end the day.
One day would be all about beachy fun, starting with breakfast burritos from A’s in Newport, followed by a Duffy boat ride around the harbor with music, rosé, and snacks. Later, we’d dress up and do a glam dinner at Mastro’s Ocean Club, just to really soak in those luxury OC vibes.
We’d spend another day back in LA, starting with brunch at The Ivy, then shopping around Rodeo or Melrose. Maybe squeeze in a blowout or facial if we’re feeling extra, then head to Delilah or BOA for dinner, great food, fun crowd, and a little nightlife energy.
For something more laid back, I’d plan a hike at El Moro or Runyon Canyon, followed by lunch at Gracias Madre (plant-based Mexican that’s so good). We’d walk around Santa Monica or hit the beach one more time, maybe even catch live music or a show if the timing worked out.
On the last day, we’d keep it simple, grab coffee and walk around Balboa Island, take in the peaceful views, then brunch at The Deck in Laguna to toast to an amazing week. Honestly, there’s just so much to do here between OC and LA, you can go from chill beach days to glam nights out in a heartbeat, and that’s what makes sharing this place with someone you love so fun.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give the biggest shoutout to my husband, Eddie, my partner in life and in business. None of this would be possible without him. From the very beginning, he believed in my vision, pushed me to dream bigger, and supported me through every challenge. He’s the one behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly, handling the business side so I can focus on what I love most, caring for our patients.
His work ethic, creativity, and unwavering support inspire me every single day. He’s not just my husband, he’s my teammate, my sounding board, and the heart behind so much of what we’ve built together. I’m so proud of what we’ve created, and even more proud that we’ve done it side by side.
