Meet Liz Nowell | Founder, Best Life Leashes & Digital Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Nowell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Without a doubt, the most important factor behind the success of Best Life Leashes is the incredible support and encouragement from our loyal fans/customers (aka Stripe Squad) and Rescue Partners (aka Stripe Supporters).

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’d say I’m most proud of overcoming my fears and insecurities of not knowing what the heck I’m doing and making the leap to creating and launching Best Life Leashes. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding watching our mission grow and make an impact.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Always on my list for visitors is visiting Balboa Park in the morning, grabbing lunch at The Market Place and enjoying it in one of the many grassy areas along 6th Ave or within the park itself. Panama 66 has amazing cocktails to enjoy in their grass area, especially when there’s live music! And of course, the San Diego Zoo is always an attraction I recommend if we have a day to spare.

Hane Sushi is another “must do” whenever friends and family visit.

And my favorite places to grab some awesome cocktails throughout SD are always fun visits! Among them are Starlite, Trust, Raised By Wolves, The Realm, Caché, Polite Provisions, Noble Experiment, Young Blood, and Fifth & Rose. (The Breakfast Shot at High Dive is always a fun favorite if we end up in the area!)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Although I truly believe that every single person who visits our site and chooses to rep The Symbol For Rescue Dogs and inspire others deserves to be recognized in this story, I’m unable to list them all…mostly due to privacy reasons. So I’ll do it this way:

If you’re reading this and your rescue dog has the two stripes on a leash, collar, harness, or bandana…this shoutout is to you, Stripe Squad! Thank you for choosing to inspire more people to adopt their next dog by letting them see how awesome yours is!

And biggest shoutout to our Stripe Supporters, who have chosen to not only endorse our mission and The Symbol For Rescue Dogs, but also welcome it with open arms and dedicate their time to spreading the word about our mission and help us get more rescue dogs showing their stripes. None of the success we’ve seen so far would have happened without all of you and I am so thankful for all that you do!
