We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Peach and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lisa, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I have always loved design, even at a young age. I was the teenager with Home and Garden, Martha Stewart Living magazines instead of the typical Vogue and Glamour and teen magazines.

Most of my “jobs” or “professions” prior to Kindred Oak Farm were based out of necessity for income, a means to provide. When I had the chance to buy this property and purchase the existing business as well, I had the luxury of being able to leave that job in the hands of my eldest son and pursue this idea of running a farm, and B&B out of passion. To create my own business and to be creative. I designed it, designed the marketing materials, I got to cook and prepare menus. I was able to create and design a garden and then a cut flower garden. I then got to create content for social media and market our event side of things. I get to come up with creative ideas for revenue streams. I am definitely putting my creativity to use now and I couldn’t be more happy and fulfilled.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I believe what sets us apart from other Bed and Breakfast’s or Farm Stays are our experiences that we have created.

I am most proud of creating a very special place on a very unique spot. I am also very proud of the team I have created around me by offering them a place to show off their talents. We partner with many local chefs and artisans and give them a platform to showcase their passion.

We offer a multicourse gourmet breakfast each morning of our guests stay. Creating a curated meal specific to their allergies and eating preferences. We pull as much from our organic garden as possible be a true farm to table experience.

We have a vineyard, orchard and cut flower garden as well for guests to meander through and experience. We are a farm stay as well offering visits with chickens, goats and highlander cows.

We want guests to know that we strive to create a unique upscale experience. We want to provide a space of respite and renew in the most unique setting of trees and landscape.

It has not been easy, but it really just organically grew from the beginning. Neither of us had any farming experience prior to this and it has been a true learn as you go situation for us. We still are learning because every year has had different weather, different problems/challenges… We can only keep learning and take nothing for granted.

The lessons we have learned along the way… are too many to count. Honestly though.. I think each and everyone would involve some sort of patience lesson. 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
oh gosh!! This is easy… as each weekend when we have our guests check-in I am constantly asked this.

Since we are an elevated Bed and Breakfast, I start by assuming our guests are looking for unique, quality experience in Paso Robles.

While there are many large producers of wine, I have several mom and pop places to suggest for wine tasting on my website.

My top places to eat … In Bloom, LPC, Six Test Kitchen (reservations WAY in advance!) Hatch, and I am really looking forward to the opening Chef Rachel Ponce’s new place in late 2023 called the Frunchroom

But my favorite place to recommend is right here on our farm! Book a private chef to cook you a fabulous meal on your own patio or our outside kitchen. I mean.. you can’t beat the views.

Places to drink.. In Bloom! Hatch! or visit Grain and Vine distillery!! Like beer? Colony Mash is really fun on the weekends too.

Hang out. again… here at the farm! Come hang out for our music in the Bowl or order up a picnic from our chef to dine in the bowl with a bottle of local wine! A massage under the trees is also a great way to hang out here on the farm.

Places to check out… definitely check out our olive oil farms! I am also looking forward to the opening of Blackmarket Cheese Company for locally produced goat and sheep cheese! Farmers markets are amazing here too!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
undoubtedly…

My husband Rob!!!!!

and my kiddos.
