We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Cantu and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
An OrganIzed Home OC was created out of a desire to share my knowledge of stress and anxiety management that I had developed through my own experience as a special needs teacher.. After 27 years in the classroom, I had developed a system of organization that consisted of very little visual clutter, color coded and labeled containers, regular routines, and zones that contained categorized items that were easily accessible. I began to apply these same methods into my own home and saw a huge change in daily routines becoming increasingly simplistic and easy, therefore freeing up time for hobbies, relaxation, and minimizing stress. At this point, I knew I had to share my knowledge with our community, in hopes of having a positive impact on local families.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets An Organizes Home OC apart from other home organizers is our ability to work quick and efficiently. Our expertise allows us to access a home’s space quickly, get to work, and bring peace and functionality to a home in a time frame that allows our clients to save hundreds if not thousands of dollars. We also come prepared with numerous products in an effort to alleviate stress for the client. We know what products work best, and we come prepared with them. Another aspect of An Organized Home OC that sets us apart from other organizers is our non judgemental approach. We aren’t about passing judgement on the condition of a client’s home. We feel honored that they have put their home in the care of our hands. We are about building relationships and trust. Our goal as functional organizers is to simply help our clients develop new habits that will bring more peace in their homes.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living in Southern CA is such a great joy. When we have friends and family visit from out of the area, our favorite place to take them is the beach. We enjoy a long stroll along Salt Creek and Strands in Dana Point, and it’s always nice to stop in the French cafe, Moulin, to grab a pastry and latte.
Another great beach we enjoy strolling along is Crystal Cove. This stroll has some beautiful look out points, and rock caves to climb in,. We always enjoy stopping on our stroll at the Shake Shack for a quick snack or sitting on the patio at the Beach Comber to enjoy fresh seafood or a cocktail.
The San Clemente Trail is also a must see for any visitor. We always park near the train and walk alongside the tracks to the pier. The pier offers a
great lunch and oceanside dining at Fisherman’s Restaurant and Bar, but an early morning stroll has to include breakfast and coffee at Bear Roast Coffee.
An evening in Laguna Beach has to include a walk down the steps to the sand on Thalia St., after grabbing a gelato at Dolce Gelato. Hearing
the waves crashing on the shore while watching the stars is amazing and so tranquil.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A shoutout I’d like to make in recognition of the success of An Organized Home OC, is my supportive husband, and the amazing organizers that are part of our team. These ladies have spent hundreds of hours perfecting their craft, providing amazing customer service, keeping a positive attitude under any circumstance, shopping for the most affordable products to support our clients goals, and really making An Organized Home OC the successful home organizing service we are today..
