We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Escalera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lauren, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Work life balance It’s the question everyone wants the answer too. I’m not sure, honestly as a Woman and as a Mother there is simply no other option but learn how to balance it all. What works for one family or individual most likely isn’t the same for the family next door. That’s the beauty in life, we all aren’t the same and it’s what makes all of us so unique. If you wake up each day and you are doing the best you can with what you have and you are trying to make your life and your families life better then that is balance to me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
SugarMama Beauty Bar is a home based business located in Vista. We are the only company who offers Sugaring in Vista let alone from home and is going on year 2 of being open. That alone sets me apart from the rest. I believe that is what has kept me open and with steady business is being able to offer a more personable experience to my clients.

The biggest lesson I have learned since opening would be to take your time. This isn’t a race, make your business plan that fits your lifestyle and goals and don’t stop till you are satisfied.

I would like the Women of the world to start loving themselves. We have gone to long comparing ourselves to others, not loving ourselves enough to see our value and stop accepting less then what you are worth.
It’s our time to shine ladies, life each other up.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would go to the beach Get a facial at SacredSkin of San Diego
Reiki healing with ReikiRoom San Diego
Eat a hotdog at the DogHouse
Visit Skoolyard Records

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Michelle-Esperon Santos who owns SacredSkin of San Diego. She came to class everyday with a smile on her face, willing to help me with any question I had. Fast forward two years and she is still my right hand lady in Esthetics and business advice. Might I also add she gives the most amazing facial.
