Meet Lauren Fields | Founder and CEO of Fieldswell

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lauren Fields and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lauren, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
You can go to the gym to strengthen your muscles. You can visit a café to nourish your body. But where do you go to elevate your mindset? To design your life?
I found myself asking that exact question in my early 20s while living in New York City—searching for answers to deeply personal questions:
What career path is right for me? How do I navigate this heart-shattering breakup? Who can I talk to about the limiting beliefs I carry—beliefs shaped in part by lingering neurological symptoms from a traumatic brain injury I experienced when I was 14?
There was no clear destination. Therapy helped, but I yearned for something more than just unpacking the past. I sought an inspiring environment where I could learn more about the mind, unlock peak well-being, and intentionally design the life I envisioned. I wanted to focus not just on where I’d been, but on what was possible ahead of me.
I’ve devoted the past decade to becoming the person capable of creating that space—from earning my certification in Health and Wellness Coaching through IIN to speaking on the TEDx stage, hosting The Fieldswell Podcast, and completing my Master’s degree in Psychology.
And now—back in Rancho Santa Fe, where I grew up riding horses on the trails, attending the Roger Rowe School, and visiting my parents’ offices on the Main Street of the village—Fieldswell opens its doors. It is a sense of coming home to myself and sharing a piece of my heart with the community that raised me.
Fieldswell offers the experiences I once searched for—curated wellness programs, thought-provoking conversations, and a space where mindset meets purpose.
More than just a wellness center, it’s a sanctuary for self-inquiry, growth, and transformation—blending neuroscience-informed coaching, guided meditations, and community gatherings to empower you to come home to yourself.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The mission behind Fieldswell is deeply personal. It’s built on truth—my own journey of resilience, reinvention, and rediscovery. After experiencing a traumatic brain injury at 14, I spent years navigating identity, healing, and searching for my path. That lived experience shaped my lens as a coach and creator. I know what it feels like to lose yourself—and what it takes to rebuild a life with intention.
I believe life isn’t defined by what happens to us, but by how we choose to respond. We can be victims of our circumstances, or we can become creators of a beautiful reality. The choice is ours. Everything shifted for me the moment I began to take myself seriously and commit to the vision I had for my future.
That’s why I created The Fieldswell Formula—a transformative framework that helps individuals gain clarity on what they truly want in life and evolve into the version of themselves capable of making it real.
I want to see what you’re capable of, don’t you?

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I was born and raised in San Diego and worked as a Lifestyle Manager when I lived in NYC—so naturally, I’m the girl who lives for curating a dense, detail-packed travel itinerary. I love this question!
For a San Diego getaway, I’d recommend checking into Rancho Valencia for the ultimate luxury experience, or L’Auberge Del Mar if you’re craving a coastal vibe. After settling in at Rancho Valencia, head to The Pony Room for cocktails (or mocktails!) and appetizers—such a chic spot to kick things off. Then grab dinner at The Market Restaurant, hands down my favorite in San Diego. Pro tip: make a reservation in the lounge so you can order from their top-secret sushi menu and choose a la carte from their incredible prix fixe dinner offerings.
On Saturday, start your day with yoga at the Rancho Valencia spa—the yoga pavilion feels like you’ve been transported to Bali. Follow it with a massage and lunch by the spa pool. Bliss. For dinner, go to Steak 48 in Del Mar—it has that elevated LA or NYC energy that’s somewhat rare to find in SD.
Sunday morning, hit Torrey Pines State Beach for a hike, then head to brunch at Atelier Manna. Put your name in advance online with your arrival, time. Get the Turkish eggs and the French toast. Trust me—the French toast is life-changing and takes 3 days for them to prepare.
If you’re into fitness, make time for a workout at Revel Fit Club for HIIT training and Bodyrok or Elevate for a killer reformer Pilates class. And if you’re a foodie like me, don’t miss Waverly in Cardiff (great for brunch, lunch, or dinner) and Pamplemousse for a fancy French dinner that never disappoints. Rare Society is delicious too.
Other gems? The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and Bing’s Bar are charming and cozy, and for a fun beach bar vibe, head to Monarch.
Last but certainly not least, visit The Fieldswell Wellness Sanctuary to elevate your being with red light therapy, sound healing, and guided meditation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
When I built up the courage to share my story and step onto the TEDx stage, I met an inspiring leader named Moe Rock, the CEO of the Los Angeles Tribune. That moment sparked a powerful connection. Shortly after, I was invited to join the LA Tribune Podcast Network—and it’s been a transformative part of my journey ever since.
Since the beginning of 2024, I’ve participated in weekly calls with the LAT podcasting community, spoken at their virtual and in-person events, and felt deeply supported by a team that not only amplified my voice but also believed in my mission. I credit Moe Rock, Michael Silvers, and the entire LAT family for giving me a platform, guidance, and a genuine sense of belonging as I continue to grow and share my message with the world.
