Meet Kristen + Jill Hatfield + Griffin | Co-Founders

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kristen + Jill Hatfield + Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kristen + Jill, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting SNAPup! involved a combination of factors related to our passion for home design and sales as well as a desire to leverage technology for a more efficient and effective sales process. Starting this business required a certain level of risk-taking and a willingness to just go for it!

What should our readers know about your business?
SNAPup! (launched in March 2023) is a platform to BUY + SELL new/gently used furniture + accessories. We have gotten incredible feedback since our launch + have processed more than 300 transactions. We are currently working with Interior Designers, Real Estate Agents, Stagers, Professional Organizers and many local homeowners in providing a simple + streamlined solution for selling home items. Our website tells a lot more about what SNAPup is all about! http://www.snapup.shop.
It has a ton of work but so rewarding. Jill + I have immense belief and respect for each other. We each bring unique talents and skill sets to the business, constantly refining our roles and processes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Eat – CDM Restaurant, Oak & Coal, Trenta, Tres Muchachos, Bandera or Fly N Fish for oysters
Visit/Hang Out –
– Anywhere near the water, ride bikes down on Lido to Malibu Farms for a margarita, boat ride to Buddha’s Favorite for sushi, CDM beach or down on Newport peninsula for early morning beach time w/ the dogs.
– We love entertaining and hosting dinner parties and more casual backyard gatherings.
– Exercise – We would definitely take a yoga class at Ekam or spin/strength class at Moxi or lagree at Trim. Hike buck gulley or el morro.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several individuals who played pivotal roles in our journey.
First – our husbands and (grown) kids for their unwavering support and belief in us. Kristen’s dad and many friends who had started successful businesses played a crucial role in guiding us on how to get our business going, offering valuable advice based on their own experiences. Ashley Clark from Skout Interior Design was another one who truly inspired us to launch this business – “It’s genius – go for it!”
We are immensely grateful for the countless friends who have supported, encouraged, and helped SNAPup! grow.
