We had the good fortune of connecting with KOAT RECORDS and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi KOAT, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
We come from places where the odds were stacked against us — rough streets, broken homes, and environments that tried to define our limits before we even had a chance to dream. Most of us came up in different cities and hoods, but our stories share the same roots: struggle, survival, and the hunger to rise above it all.

Our upbringing gave us thick skin and sharp minds. It taught us how to hustle, how to stay loyal, and how to turn pain into power. That’s the foundation of K.O.A.T. Records — Kings of All Trades. We didn’t wait for a seat at the table; we built our own. Music became our outlet, our therapy, and our weapon.

Everything we create comes from that raw, real place. We’re not just a label — we’re a family forged in fire, each of us bringing our own scars and stories to the mic. The streets raised us, but our vision pushed us further. Now we carry that same fire into everything we do — representing the ones who never gave up, and showing the world what happens when kings rise from the concrete.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
At K.O.A.T. Records, our work goes way beyond music — it’s a lifestyle, a message, and a movement. We’re a collective of artists who represent something real: Kings of All Trades. That means we don’t box ourselves in. We rap, we produce, we create visuals, we build brands, and we bring raw, unfiltered stories to the front line. What sets us apart is that we’re not chasing trends — we’re setting the tone for the streets and beyond.

We’re most proud of how far we’ve come without selling out or switching up. We built this independently, brick by brick, staying true to our roots while leveling up in our craft. The energy is real, the lyrics are lived, and the visuals are cinematic. Every song, every project — it comes from a place of truth.

The road here hasn’t been easy. We faced industry gatekeeping, financial setbacks, fake love, and all the pressure that comes with trying to build something real in a world full of filters. But we overcame all that by staying solid, trusting our vision, and pushing through every setback as a team. Loyalty and consistency became our weapons.

We’ve learned that patience, persistence, and unity are everything. When you move with purpose and passion, the right people find you — but only after you’ve put in the work that most aren’t willing to do.

What we want the world to know is simple: K.O.A.T. is more than a label. It’s a voice for the unheard, a platform for the overlooked, and a reminder that greatness comes from the ground up. We’re not here to fit in — we’re here to stand out, speak truth, and take over on our own terms

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: We’d start by pulling up to the neighborhood — the blocks that made us. Show love to the OGs, hit the local spots we grew up around, and let them soak up the real energy. Then we’d grab some classic street food, maybe hit a taco truck that’s been holding it down for years — not no commercial chain, but real-deal flavor.

Day 2: Studio session. We’d bring them into our world — behind the scenes, beats knocking, bars being laid, energy flowing. Let them see how the KOAT sound is made. After that, we’re hitting a local spot for food — soul food, something heavy that hits like the music.

Day 3: Art and culture day. We’d take them to check out some graffiti walls, underground streetwear shops, and maybe an open mic or local showcase where raw talent’s still being discovered. That night, it’s low-key — chilling with the crew, freestyling, laughing, vibing.

Day 4: Now we turn up. A night out at a spot where the DJs spin real hip-hop and the drinks hit right. Bottle service? Maybe. But only if the vibes are right. We’re there for the music and the energy — not clout.

Day 5: We recover with some legit comfort food — maybe a hidden gem brunch spot — then cruise out to nature or the beach to clear our heads, smoke something, and talk about life and legacy.

Day 6-7: Back in grind mode. We’re either shooting a video, making content, or building something. If they’re part of the family, they work too. Then we wrap it all up with a house party or private kickback with just real ones — no fakes, no phones, just pure connection and good energy.

Our city has a lot to offer, but what makes it special is how we move through it — real people, real spots, and no filter. That’s the KOAT way.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a collective, K.O.A.T. Records didn’t get here alone — and we never forget that. First and foremost, we gotta shout out the people who believed in us before the world even knew our names — the ones who saw the vision when it was just a spark. Family, close friends, the ones who stayed down during the grind — they’re the real backbone of this movement.

We also want to recognize the communities we come from — every block, every struggle, every late night that shaped our sound and our mindset. That raw energy, that pain and pride, it’s all in our music. Those environments made us who we are, and we carry that with us in everything we do.

And we gotta give a shoutout to the fans who stayed tapped in from day one — reposting, streaming, pulling up to shows, wearing KOAT gear, and riding with us before the big features and platforms. Y’all kept the momentum going when nobody else was paying attention.

Lastly, we salute each other. This team, this brotherhood — it’s built on loyalty, trust, and pushing each other to level up. We sharpen iron with iron, and without that bond, KOAT wouldn’t be what it is today
