Meet Kim Galbraith | Yoga Instructor, Energy Astrologer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kim Galbraith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kim, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
It’s been a true evolutionary process, unfolding over many years. I’ve always been a caretaker at heart, and that is what first guided me into yoga training. From there, I was drawn into deeper philosophical explorations—studying different styles of yoga, meditation, breathwork, somatics, and eventually, astrology. From there is seemed to naturally led me to energy work and a deeper relationship with the gifts of the Earth: stones, crystals, and healing plants.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My work has really evolved out of a long and winding path—one that’s taken me through a lot of different landscapes, both professionally and personally. I started out in more traditional roles, but I always felt this pull toward deeper layers of healing and meaning. Over time, that pull became impossible to ignore. I found myself immersed in yoga, somatics, stone and plant medicine, astrology—all these tools that help us reconnect to ourselves in different ways. Eventually, I found a way to weave them together into what I now call North Bone Essentials. The “North Bone” phrase was sent to me in the middle of the night. I didn’t understand its purpose at first but I kept following the prompts. It’s become this space where I can support people (and dogs) physically, energetically, and spiritually—whether that’s through a flower essence blend, a yoga recovery session, or making a healing bracelet or jewelry through exploring their natal chart.
But it hasn’t been without its challenges. One of the biggest ones has been trusting that my way of working—this more intuitive, integrative, often nonlinear approach—is “real”. I’ve had to carve out my own path, and that takes courage, especially in a world that loves clear labels and quick results. There were times when I doubted myself, or when I felt like I didn’t quite fit into any one community. But those moments taught me how to stand in my own rhythm, and to honor the unique gifts I have to offer.
What makes my work different is that it’s deeply personal. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all anything. I listen—to the body, to the planets and natal chart, to the plants and crystals —and I create from that space. My approach is both grounded and mystical, and rooted in ancient teachings. It’s about making my clients feel supported and in harmony with their journeys.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Being a double Cancer—Sun and Rising—I’m naturally drawn to the water. Depending on my friend’s preferences, I’d either rent a cozy beach house in the Ventura area on the beach or book a campsite along PCH. Sycamore Canyon and Leo Carrillo are two of my favorite spots to bring visitors; they have that perfect mix of coastal beauty and nature. I’d probably cook for us, too—I’m happiest at home base, preparing fresh meals with ingredients from local farmers markets.
Luckily, my best friend is also a Cancer Sun, so we’re completely aligned in how we like to spend time: low-key, nourishing, and close to the sea. I’d definitely plan a few days to Morro Bay, too—for the otters and sea lions, and some Grassy Bar oysters, maybe with a local wine.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve been incredibly blessed with amazing teachers, mentors, and spiritual guides – too many to fit into this text box! But the greatest inspiration in my life has always come from my two adult sons; they continue to be my most profound teachers. Oh, and our dogs, I’d have to give them a shoutout too!
One of the most influential guides on my astrological path has been Scott Tejerian. Since discovering his podcast, The Weekly Transit in 2021, his insights have become a guiding light for me. I began working with him one-on-one and joined his Moon Cycle classes, which deepened both my understanding and practice.
This was one of the most physically and emotionally challenging periods of my life, as my family and I were caring for my mother in her 90s. In fact, it was my mom that first inspired me to pursue a reading of her astrological chart, and I was seeking a deeper way to understand her.
With Scott’s support and guidance, I found clarity and was learning a new way to think about astrology. It also helped me navigate a difficult time with more compassion, perspective, and purpose.
