Meet Ken Dow | Upright and Electric Bassist, Vocalist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ken Dow and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ken, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Persistence is the most important factor in ultimately getting the gigs you want. Sometimes, you’re not ready for that gig, in which case persisting allows you to develop your skills to the point where you are. Sometimes, it takes a while for word of your abilities to spread to the right people.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My goal as a bassist has always been to be as versatile as possible. The more genres, types of work, etc. you’re comfortable with, the more work you can do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The beaches are an obvious attraction, but there are world-class arts and entertainment happening all over town as well.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shoutout to my mom, who allowed us to be loud and terrible when we first started.
