Meet Kathleen Connor | Global Real Estate Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kathleen Connor and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kathleen, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
My back round has impacted me, in that it’s been quite varied! I was brought up in the mid-west which does instill hard work and to be down to earth. I grew up very modestly (poor) so I believe that gives you an awareness of value and accountability. After that it was New York City as a model at a very young age. I had to learn very quickly and adapt to a variety of situations and personalities. It opened my world tremendously to so much beauty, culture, style, and architecture. I was so in love with the city and spent a great amount of time in the museums. I mean, some oof my appointments were in Carnegie Hall! What I saw and what I heard. After that, two more major cities and different cultures. I went to live in Paris for a short time, and then on to Tokyo for a decade. This was so daunting, intimidating, and at times overwhelming. And the most exciting! I had to resist the urge to be in my comfort zone and just go for it!!!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The excitement of meeting new people, working with so many professionals and wearing a variety of hats , depending on the situation. It’s a big responsibility to sell someone’s home. or help someone with such a major purchase. When someone believes in me I am so very grateful and proud. I believe what sets me apart is that I have lived in so many places and have had the experience of building, buying and selling homes in so many locations. I have also lived at every level economically which gives me so much experience to draw from. The only way to get past the challenges is to learn from them. The more you learn, the more confident you become…You have to believe in what you do before other people will. That and persistence!
I was so very fortunate to get the most wonderful project , which is a development on Catalina. So beautiful and the best part is showing people what is essentially in their backyard! I work on this with Sean and we love seeing people see what is possible .
Pacific Sotheby’s is the best brokerage and represents the best in the world at all levels.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh so many great spots! Depending on the season
The Del Mar Race Track and Pamplemousse restaurant after for a wonderful dinner-and maybe drinks after at Red Tracton’s. These are all classic traditional spots in North County.
One of our glorious beaches-I am most familiar with Del Mar Beach.
Torrey Pines for a hike and if your a golfer, Torrey Pines Golf Course
I would love to arrange a “Hot Air Balloon” ride!
Rady Shell for a concert–a new must see and enjoy venue in San Diego.
And Humphrey’s By The Bay for a concert–a unique and wonderful atmosphere to listen to music.
The newly renovated and expanded Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla-breathtakingly beautiful setting and a wonderful collection and great shows!
A visit to charming Rancho Santa Fe. Hike some of the trails , lunch at Thyme in the Ranch. Maybe drinks at the historical Inn at Rancho Santa Fe and then dinner at the famous Mill Fleur restaurant for traditional French cuisine.
Sunset dinner at Jakes or Posideon restaurants on the sand!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh that would be my two wonderful daughters!! They are brave, beautiful and so very smart, funny and humble. They give me so much love and encouragement. Niki is a private chef, nutritionist. She is developing her own line of food product and was just featured on The Food Network, Kelly resides in NYC with her husband, Noah. Kelly attended NYU and has really never looked back! She interned and then worked at Vogue and is now working at Thom Browne as Director of Brand Relations. I had a very terrible divorce and they have been such a source of love and support. My friend of over 40 years is now a family member! She is a wise and sensible dreamer!!! Anything is possible…now get to work! Her name is Marcia and she is also a fabulous cook! I have been fortunate to meet so many wonderful people who have overcome adversity and they are my role models. I am a voracious reader, so it would be impossible to choose one book, or one author. I feel adrift without 2-4 books going at once!
