We had the good fortune of connecting with Karyl Hanley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karyl, what matters most to you?
Honesty and integrity are integral components in developing trust and building strong relationships. I have always considered honesty to be the cornerstone in both my professional and personal life. Having strong moral principles based on honesty and following those principles consistently has been important in building and maintaining the relationships I have with clients at my property. I spent the majority of of my business career managing people in corporate settings and always strived to be honest, trustworthy and fair. As a small business owner, I have applied those same principles to my interactions with the trainers at my facility, the clients they serve and those in my employ.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am currently the owner/operator of a family-owned equestrian facility, Rancho Cielo, located in Rancho Santa Fe. Our facility sits on 11 acres and supports various riding disciplines. We have two hunter jumper, one western, one dressage and a multipurpose arena. At present, we have six trainers who utilize the property for training purposes. Rancho Cielo Equestrian Facility opened its doors in 2016 and over the past few years numerous improvements have been made to the property.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego has a wide variety of attractions that would appeal to anyone visiting from out of the area. We have miles of beautiful beaches and every type of food imaginable. La Jolla Cove, Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve, the Birch Aquarium at Scripps institute, and Old Town San Diego are a must. There is Cabrillo National Monument and the museums in and around Balboa Park including the USS Midway, and the San Diego Air and Space Museum, In the surrounding areas, a day trip to Julian is absolute treat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My partner in life, Graeme Dixon and sister, Rhonda Hanley. There are others , too numerous to mention, who have also helped to support me during this chapter of my life.
