Meet Kamilla Pinel | Certified Life and Leadership Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kamilla Pinel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kamilla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I was genuinely ready for the next phase of my life to begin. Having spent 12 years building my corporate career, working across numerous teams, in various banks and states, this journey was initially a dream come true for me—until it wasn’t. Previously, the idea of becoming an entrepreneur had never crossed my mind. I adored the corporate environment and was passionate about working with global teams and a diverse range of personalities. It was comfortable and fulfilling.
However, a moment arrived when I sensed there was more to my story. My passion for personal growth and public speaking grew larger than what I could manage to satisfy on a personal level. I was eager to share! I knew I had gained so much knowledge and harbored a burning message within me. I realized I couldn’t fully express myself within the constraints of someone else’s rules. I needed my own space and boundaries that would allow me to live my life in the most authentic way possible.
Embracing entrepreneurship meant acknowledging that nothing lasts forever. Change is the only constant. That is why, what I am building today reflects only my current vision, and who knows where I’ll be in the future? So, stay tuned!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work? There’s so much to say, so I’ll do my best to be concise. I’m a certified life and leadership coach, a speaker, and a workshop facilitator. My clients are high-achievers who find themselves stuck in the “perfect” lives they’ve painstakingly built, now seeking personal and professional alignment.
What sets me apart? It’s my energy, my experience, and my expertise. I was in that spot, knowing that something was missing but unable to pinpoint it. And when I did, a wave of fears about stepping away from my meticulously crafted life overwhelmed me. Picture this: after pursuing a single goal for over 12 years, you realize it’s not what you want. But staying on this path simply because of those 12+ years? That’s the real tragedy. Fast forward another 12 years, and without change, there is a high likelihood that you will find yourself in the same spot.
What I offer to my clients is a way to see options that are not just black and white, like quitting abruptly or retreating to a mountaintop to meditate. These options are practical, fit into daily life with some adjustments, and most importantly, they are actionable. It’s crucial to realize that if changing our lives on our own were possible, we would have done it already. We don’t attempt to fix our own pipes or repair our cars—why then do we hesitate to seek professional help to improve our lives? Living in “pretend” happiness is like residing in a model home: it looks perfect until you try to open a cabinet.
Was it easy? That’s subjective. I find facing challenges is easier when you’re passionate about the project. It’s not about the ease of building a business but the hardship of continuing a life that contradicts your essence. I’ve stopped evaluating what’s easy or difficult and instead embraced momentum, enjoying every step of the life game. Challenges teach us, and successes reward us, both deserving celebration.
My brand, You Dream You, emphasizes that dreaming and action are both essential for my clients’ success. This philosophy is embedded in my proprietary DREAM™ methodology (Discover, Reflect, Elevate Energy, Act, Maintain Momentum). Momentum is crucial, so I offer concierge support, allowing clients access to me five days a week to ensure they receive the support they need between sessions.
So, there you have it. It was a big question, and perhaps I wasn’t as succinct as I hoped. 🙂

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Everyone who knows me would instantly know the answer to this question, so I’ll share for those who don’t. It would undoubtedly be a trip to wine country. Having moved to California from NYC over three years ago, I’ve found myself in what I can only describe as the heaven of wine countries. Napa and Sonoma in Northern California, along with Temecula in Southern California where I currently reside, are unparalleled. My love for wineries extends well beyond the amazing wines they offer, which I deeply appreciate. It’s about the aesthetically pleasing views, the elegant glasses, cheese boards, and the beautiful people enjoying every sip amidst engaging conversations. It’s the entire experience that I immerse myself in regularly.
Alternatively, since I now have my almost one-year-old, I might take my best friend to the San Diego Zoo for an equally enriching experience.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely, my journey is a puzzle of lessons learned from everyone I’ve met. Throughout my career, I have had incredible coaches and mentors who contributed to my personal and professional growth in very meaningful ways. My time at iPEC was nothing short of transformative, introducing me to a network of individuals who understand me on a profound level. And of course, my family, both abroad and in the States, plays a crucial role. All in all, my life would never be what it is without these people in it.
