We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan Hudic Cadot and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jonathan, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well like a lot of people I had to work on the side as a student, Gave me lots of various experiences and most of the time it was fine but I knew I couldn t really work as an employee. Then 9 years ago I started my carreer as a Tattoo Artist, and that was ticking every box for me. Gave me that freedom and flexibility thatn ytou might not have with employed type job. although it comes with another type of pression / stress :). but I love every second of it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
So I m a Tattoo artist. I moved in California last February to join the Raven and The Wolves team. Most of the time what people like about my work is that I have my unique ways to work on my designs. I always try to find a way to make it refreshing or a new creative take on a theme that as been done many times before, and try to make it unique. I personnaly beleive that everybody as a ”secret project inside” and my job is to find it.
What brought me where I am today is definitly a lot of work and a lot of passion in my trade.
I wouldn’t say it was easy but It didnt felt really hard aswell. Sure I had my moment when I was stressed or anxious, or wondering if I was good enough, but with time and experience I managed to overcome those fears and move forward, keep progressing.
Definitly the things that helped me the most was to always look back at my work ans try to spot where I could improve and what to change if needed in order to keep that dynamic of improving each tattoo. Always trying to make my next tattoo the best I ve ever done.
Well my hope is that one day I ll be good enough for the people to see me as a reference in my field and maybe get inspired with my way of working 🙂

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Tricky question, sometimes with my wife we laugh at the fact that probably the people that are going to visit us will definitly know more about the area than we do. We just moved here, in February and since then we just worked on getting settled here. So far so good I would say but we havnt really explored everything california has to offer but we will get there:). We live in Long beach and so far we really love it, it really grows on us and happy to keep staying there. definitly some exciting people here.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to The Raven and The wolves tattoo studio for selecting me to be a part of their team and giving me a chance to work and live in Califonia
