Meet John Moreno | Barber Mechanic

We had the good fortune of connecting with John Moreno and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi John, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea for my business came up while working at the family business, Bakersfield Barber College. It was there, that the need for fixing barber chairs, clippers and shears was an unavailable service. So, I started repairing our schools chairs and tools. Soon after, I fixed friends and families barber chairs. It happened gradually, but I went from teaching and cutting hair to fixing hydraulic barber chairs. Now, my business is an all mobile one-stop-shop for chair repair along with shear and clipper sharpening.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Barber Mechanic is my business; I travel all over California repairing barber chairs and tools for barbers, hairstylists and pet groomers, using my knowledge as a barber along with my abilities as a repair man to provide exceptional service to my clients.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Get some food Miceli’s Italian Restaurant and then catch a comedy show at the Laugh Factory or the Hollywood Improv.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Thanks to all the barbers and people in my field of business no matter how far I travel the hospitality and respect is amazing, so I’m very blessed to have all the people in my business.
