We had the good fortune of connecting with Jane Asher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jane, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
“Expand Without Fear” this affirmation was given to me by my mother after she transitioned to the other side. This message is especially meaningful as she was reaching out and telling me that I no longer needed to “fit” into someone else’s expectation of what they thought I should be. The words resonate with me, as I believe we are meant to help humanity move forward by opening up to expanded consciousness with compassion and love.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have a podcast called The Next Room, that covers all aspects of death, dying, grief, afterlife, beliefs and culture traditions surrounding this journey that each of us will ultimately take. I also just published my first book, The Next Room.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So many great places in my gorgeous city. Here are some of my favorites to take friends and family when they are visiting.
A long walk at La Jolla Shores Beach, if it’s low tide, even better…once past Scripps Pier just chilling on the dinosaur rocks and watching the waves roll in and out.
Lunch at Barbarella after the walk is a nice touch.
A must see, not just for the view, but the energy is Mt. Soledad. I just had my dad’s plaque installed, so it’s even more meaningful to me.
A cruise around the Big Bay is a great way to show off San Diego from the water. I’ve lost count how many trips I’ve taken, it never gets old. It’s necessary to note that you must do both North/South on this outing.
The Midway is a great tour (Especially if your guests are into military history) The docents on the ship are extraordinary.
Of course, a trip to San Diego is not complete without several visits to local taqueria shops. I’m fond of Estrada’s (best hot sauce) and Cotijas too.
Other notables~The Marine Room for a cocktail and a view and the complete opposite vibe, but on the ocean is the Lahaina, fantastic for hanging out on a sunny day (inexpensive t-shirts etc…next door too)
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mother: Betty Asher-Writing The Next Room would not have happened without her grace and gentle guidance
The following individuals were also extremely instrumental in my success journey
My Dad: Donald Asher
My big sister Lynn
My husband Tom Reaney
Psychic-Medium: Pamala Oslie
Empower Radio’s Brent Carey
