Hi jahlin, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my thought process behind starting my entire business has a lot to do with the passing of my sister in 2020 as well as I got sick of working for other people I truly felt like I could do something real with my life and it was time to make a huge change

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m the owner of Jaysboardshop located in Oceanside ( 610 N Redondo Dr ) I think the biggest thing that sets me apart is I’m completely doing this all by myself I don’t have a team around so I times I feel like there’s a tremendous amount of pressure on my back to get things done

I got to where I am today by continuing to hustle, and to never give up on myself regardless of any of the situation that I’ve been faced with throughout this journey

this has been far from easy. This has been one of the biggest stages of my life. Some of these decisions are super hard to make when you’re alone doing it I just try hard to believe in everything that I’m doing so I don’t have the fear of failure that tile overcome these obstacles

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned in this business would be patient not only with yourself, but with others it’s taught me how to be patient he change you want to see

the thing I want the world to know about my brand is that when you see Jaysboardshop or you see me just know that really comes from my heart. It’s not about the money it’s not about fame or clout it’s about me personally changing my life for the better and making something out myself and just showing people that you can truly do anything you want to do in this lifetime as long as you’re willing to put the work in for it

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m born and raised in Oceanside so truthfully, I’d probably take you to LA but if I had to stay in the city we gotta hit pizza and brew on Coast Highway for the food and drinks probably go to the beach, but just in general I’d just rather leave the city and go hang out

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Honestly, I wanna give a huge shout out to all the women that have helped me tremendously with this business. I want to give a shout out to all my real homies that have been a part of this since the beginning when I was selling boards and t shirts out of the trunk, I want to give a shout out to my community and all the kids for holding me up and holding me to a higher standard to do better be better last, but not least I want to give a shout out to my father for always having my back, regardless of any situation
