We had the good fortune of connecting with Jae Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jae, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my business is to stay true to myself.

We at Tapped want give people something that we would use ourselves on a daily bases.
That is why we take so much pride on the flavor and also the ingredients that goes into our products.
For instances, we used Apple Cider Vinegar because its better for our gut health and we substituted regular sugar for monk fruit sugar so our bodies don’t get sugar spikes.

We love using our products as much as we like sharing them because we are proud of them.
To me success is providing honest products that helps peoples’ daily meals and make them happy. I think if we follow that compass, then financial success will be gravy at that point.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am currently Software Engineer. I do this full time and run Tapped part time! Been trying my best to juggle both jobs. It is stressful at times but I enjoy the grind and the results.
I was introduced to Software engineering by attending college but I did drop out 20 credits shy because I landed a software gig for a private company. At the time I was working at a bar, paying my way through college. I had no grants or scholarships so I paid everything out of pocket. I did not want to take out a loan and my family did not have much money for my education so I would say that phase of my life was a bit of a struggle. However, it taught me a lot about going after what I wanted and creating path ways to get there and that the path to where you want to be doesn’t have to be straight line as long as the destination is true. I would say that is the first major lesson I learned from that experience. Second lesson is that health is everything. I realized if my health isn’t 100% then my mind starts lagging behind. That leads to how I want our brand to be portrayed.
Health runs a very parallel path with peoples’ professional lives. We at Tapped want to bring the best tasting products without costing their mind and physical abilities. Food should be nourishing but also it should taste good. We believe in that and that is our brand’s compass.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If a friend visits, I would first take them to the beach. I would try my best to teach my buddies how to surf if there are waves. Cocoa Beach is a beautiful place to go out but also relax.
My fiancé and I have a few gems when it comes to restaurants we would like to take our friends.
Since Orlando is not too far we would take them to couple good asian spots for Ramen, Korean BBQ and drinks there as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

First I would like to give a shout to my business partner/best friend Jason Rom who has equally or more helped grow this businsess along side me.
I would love to give a shout out to our days ones!
Thank you to our friends and family, who have been our biggest cheerleaders by sharing our brand through social media and word of mouth.
Our vendors Raintree of Melbourne, Poke321, GreenTurtle, SweetHeartist, Cocoa Village General Stores, Smoothie Social who have not given up on us and continuing to order from us.
Our Jiu Jitsu gym (Off the Grid in Cocoa beach) and Crossfit Gym (Crossfit Own it in Melbourne) who also been on our side and supporting us from the beginning.
