We had the good fortune of connecting with Heena Jain and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heena, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is all about risk management. Life is all about risks and the saying “No Risk, No Reward” summarizes this aptly. Every choice we make or every decision we take in life has some sort of risk. I firmly believe that when you have a maniacal focus on your passion and have strong conviction in whatever you do, you learn from your failures and keep moving towards your goal. In the process of doing so, you learn how to take calculated risks and manage outcomes. It wouldn’t be an understatement to say that I have gotten this far because of the risks I have taken and the lessons I have learned.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a fine art Photographer specializing in Maternity and Newborn Photography and have spent 10 years perfecting the art of capturing portraits for the most important moments in people’s life. It took a lot of patience, persistence, curiosity, hard work and dedication to get to this point but it was all well worth it and I am grateful to everyone who supported me in this journey.

All along, I have believed that starting a family is one of the most beautiful event in anyone’s life and it is worth capturing in the mesmerizing timelessness of fine art portraiture. It certainly deserves to be the finest piece of work that I can produce for them and always strive to exceed my client’s expectations at every step of the way.

Pregnancy is an exceptional phase that truly evokes courage, care, love, pride, patience, beauty and sensuality of a woman all while she is on the cusp of embracing Motherhood. The Newborn phase is an extremely short and memorable time in any Parents life. It is truly magical to watch them open their eyes for the first time. As parents, you cherish their little hands, toes, nose and are always amazed at how tiny, cute and adorable they are in this phase. While they grow and evolve quickly within days, you yearn to capture and freeze those precious moments. My Newborn Portraits are perfected to capture this beautiful transition into timeless artwork.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am always amazed by how beautiful San Diego is am blessed to be living here. Its difficult to pick my absolute favorite spot here but I would say the one place that always works well for me is Coronado. With It’s beautiful white sand beaches and the laidback feel of a coastal island city, I can feel like I am on a vacation even when visiting for just a few hours. It is my must visit place for friends and family visiting from out of town. The Cabarillo National monument in Point Loma would be my second best pick for its sweeping 360 degree views of the City and the pacific ocean. Mexican cuisine in San Diego is the one to die for and The Taco Stand and Puesto in La Jolla are my absolute favorites. Black forest Mocha at the Living Room in La Jolla after every beach photoshoot is a family ritual.
