We had the good fortune of connecting with Hayden Almeida and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hayden, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to start my own physical therapy business because I had a different vision of what physical therapy should be. I was starting to become run down and burnt out in my physical therapy career and I was only 2.5 years out of school at that point. I wanted to create a physical therapy business that I would want to work for. I wanted to create something to help my community here in Long Beach. I knew I would never be satisfied working for someone else and following their rules, so I had to create something of my own. Something that I was proud of.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Zenith Performance Physical Therapy apart from other physical therapy clinics is the entire experience. At Zenith, we want to create the most memorable customer experience for each and every one of our clients. From the first moment you come in contact with us until you have finished your plan of care. WIth us, each client gets a full hour 1-on-1 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Because of this, we can make real time corrections to your treatment plan to get you to your goals more quickly. We sit down with each of our clients and determine what goals they want to reach and what their timeline is. From there we create a customized treatment plan that is going to help them become stronger and more resilient than when they walked in our door. We want our clients to succeed and stay healthy and active for life. We also pride ourselves on being a trans and queer owned physical therapy clinic. We want everyone to feel safe coming to us for treatment. Going to a healthcare provider can be scary, especially in the LGBTQIA+ community. We want to eliminate those fears when you work with us. We are part of this community and want to serve this community.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My top places I would take them in Long Beach would be:
Beach Garden Social House: I love the food, the drinks, and the atmosphere of this place. Queer friendly and they always have fun events happening.
Oh La Vache: Definitely have to try all of the cheese!
Ambitious Ales: My favorite brewery in Long Beach and they always have delicious food vendors!
Wide Eyes Open Palms: The owners are amazing and the food is delicious. Queer owned and friendly.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to thank my amazing wife, Veronica. She has been nothing but supportive throughout this entire journey. When I told her I was going to open my own physical therapy practice, she encouraged me to jump right in. I want to thank her for believing in me, supporting me, and even pushing me to go further with my business. I would not be where I am today without the support from her.
